(2) What is BSFF?

It is a method of psychotherapy specifically designed to relieve emotional trauma.

It is develop by Larry Nims PhD, a clinical psychologist.

Nims calls it "Behavioural & Emotional Symptom Elimination Training For Resolving Excess Emotion, Fear, Anger, Sadness and Trauma" (which shortens to BE.SET.FREE.FAST; and to BSFF)

It involves directly asking the subconscious mind to remove emotional problems.

Unique features of BSFF:
It works directly on negative emotions and beliefs
It is systematic, gentle, respectful, thorough, quick, effective, and seldom distressing
The patient need not know a (emotional) problem exists
The patient need not know the cause of the problem
The therapist need not know the cause of the problem
Problems are often removed at once
BSFF can be used by itself, or combined with other therapies (eg CBT)
It addresses the presence of unconscious problems, resistance and recurrence
It gives the patient a technique to deal with future problems by saying just one word.

BSFF will help you to:
Heal emotional pain in most clients in a few sessions
Do so while minimising distress
Have them feel their gains
Have their gains last
Help yourself with your own emotional issues
Feel good in your daily work with your clients

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
(3) Learning goals for this workshop:

To understand:
how negative emotions and beliefs are stored
how they underlie symptoms and problems
how emotional dilemmas maintain symptoms

To learn how to:
repair damage to self-image and self-confidence
undo negative emotions and beliefs for your clients
identify and overcome emotional dilemmas
use positive intention, self acceptance and forgiveness
check if therapy is complete
teach your client to continue with self therapy
integrate BSFF with other therapies
how to enjoy doing therapy and prevent therapist burn out

(4) Why am I sponsoring this workshop:

1945:
My plane crashed into Germany. I became a POW. We were constantly threatened with execution. I lived with what is now called PTSD for 53 years: 1945 to 1998.

I had every symptom: nightmares, guilt, unprovoked crying, flash-backs, irrational outbursts, mood swings, being difficult to people, apprehension, startling, sensitivity to the smallest of reminders.

I searched for help. I attended group therapy conducted by a psychologist.

1963:
I attended a group therapy called EST in the US and discovered that my problems were due to the war. From then to 1990 I saw 3 psychiatrists and attended group therapy, NLP, hypnosis, Silva mind control, transcendental meditation etc. I was a little better.

1990:
I had treatment by Dr Francine Shapiro with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitsation and Reprocessing) in the US over 11 days.

The treatment was very upsetting, and left me disoriented, sometimes for 24 hours.

I organised psychologists to go to the US to learn EMDR. I brought Dr Shapiro to teach EMDR in Australia. I sponsored research on EMDR. I continued to see therapists who practised EMDR. Still, some symptoms were not controlled, especially the nightmares.

1997:

--------------------------

I heard of Dr Fred Gallo’s work on TFT (Thoughts Field Therapy) and I received treatment by him on the phone. The treatment was solely with tapping on acupressure points. There was otherwise no talking. With 15 minutes of tapping I experienced a huge release of feelings. At the end I was relaxed and calm. I have not had one nightmare since.

Another 15 minutes and the feeling of guilt for dropping bombs on women and children went. I was astounded: 52 years of burden lifted in 15 minutes!

I also saw a video of a technique called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a simplified form of TFT by Gary Craig. In this video he treated 6 Vietnam veterans hospitalised for over 20 years with PTSD. After less than an hour’s treatment each they were all discharged from hospital. Very impressive.

1998:
I saw Dr Larry Nims demonstrate BSFF, a method also derived from TFT. I was greatly impressed by its thoroughness, simplicity and the lack of distress during the treatment. No other therapist I have seen did that. (At that time he used tapping and verbal instructions, after 1999 he dropped tapping and used verbal instructions alone to the subconscious mind to remove symptoms).

I received 10 hours of treatment by Dr Nims. We found and treated many more issues from the war. There was no distress. After each session I was mildly euphoric. The symptoms never returned. I was deeply impressed. BSFF was more effective then any other technique I have tried. I asked Dr Nims to teach BSFF in Australia and he came in 1999.

This is why I am sponsoring this workshop:

I am aware of the life long effects of war, abuse, crime and accidents on people. I find it impossible to sit back when I know that they can be helped. I believe the best way to be helped is to find the most effective therapy available, and have it taught to qualified health professionals

In 40 years of treatment by most of therapies available, BSFF is in my experience the most effective, and also the quickest and easiest to learn.

It has greatly helped me. I have testimonials from highly qualified, experienced therapists who all say in effect that it is by far the most helpful technique they have used for psychological trauma.

On behalf of those who need help as I did, I urge you to evaluate it for yourself, and then, if you see fit, use it along with any other techniques you know, to help others.

I COMMEND BSFF TO YOU WITH EVERY CONFIDENCE.
