2nd Annual Tejas Art & Book Festival Rockdale, TX


Wonderful FAMILY outing, lots of entertainment for all!

Saturday, MARCH 1, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is FREE.

Thirteen artists and 16 authors will be in Rockdale as part of the Second Annual Tejas Art and Book Festival.

Authors to speak and sign their books in the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library at 201 Ackerman.

Art tent located at the corner of Green and East Cameron (Hwy 79).

Classic car show from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Milam Street, one block off Hwy. 79 in downtown.

Texas Independence historical reenactment, stained glass making and live blacksmith exhibitions at the newly restored train depot.

Rockdale Elementary teachers will be on hand to read for kids in the children's section of the library.

Performances include DARREN PETERSON and Chicken Dog at 11:30 a.m., ROOSTER MORRIS at 1:00 p.m. and SARA HICKMAN at 3:20 p.m. All performances will be across the street from the library.

AUTHORS scheduled to read are: Elizabeth Crook, Tony Diaz, John FoxJohn, Don Graham, Christine Granados, Bill Harper, Bill Holman, Joaquin Jackson, Bruce Jordan, Amie Stone King, John Lee, Diana Lopez, Rooster Morris, Rollo Newsom, Anne Sutherland and Mariah Wade.

ARTISTS who will be selling their work downtown: Bernice Coleman,Roger Felps, Margaret Grimmer, Debbie Holland, Gail Kincaid, Rita Kirkman, McBrides, yellowbirdstudio.com, Carol Meiske, DK Nichols, Lisa Nicks, Sharla Wilson, and Diana and Denise Steinhagan.

The festival is made possible by grants from the TOCKER FOUNDATION and HUMANITIES TEXAS.
