An exquisite CD containing Scriabin, Medtner & Rachmaninov pieces, this CD has recieved five stars. The artist is Elen Rapoport (pictured above), a Russian soloist currently residing in Christchurch, New Zealand. Elen has recieved many rave reviews for her solo performances, of which there are excerpts of two examples below:

Background on the Artist:

Born in September 1968 in Krasnodar, Russia, near the Black Sea, Elen Rapoport's first music lessons began when she was four years old. In 1976 she entered the Peter Tchaikovsky Central Special School for gifted pupils. The school is associated with the Moscow Conservatory of Music. Her teachers were M Kalyanova and Professors M Petukhov, L Naumov and T Nikolaeva.
From 1988 to 1994 she studied at the Genesins Musical Pedigogic Institute, now the Russian Musical Academy. Her teacher here was Professor Arkady Sevidov. Elen undertook further study with Professor Ersin Onay at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey.
Elen has given concerts in Russia, Turkey, Portugal and the USA. She currently resides in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she is in much demand as a soloist and accompanist.
