As a Gerontologist I provide support and care to assist seniors and families with the difficulties of "what's right for them"

Considering Quality Care

As you research whether a provider delivers the care and support you need, a key source can be the opinion of people who have already recieved services from the provider. It can also be helpful to know whether the service is regulated by the provincial government or guided by standards of a provincial association. For more information please go to the Ontario Gerontology Association website.
It is important to you to find a provider that is right for you. This means the provider's scope of services and supports matches your personal situation, including your needs, preferences, financial resources, and other sources of support.
As you explore your options, some people choose a combination of home and community support services to stay in their own home for as long as possible. Others choose to move to a place with on-site care and the opportunity for social interaction. The fact is finding what is right for you will depend on your personal situation.
