Yvonne's Place
Hello everyone, I am an LVN with 18 + years in the healthcare field, mainly in management in the long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting. I am gravely concerned with many issues. I have been observing how staffing is becoming increasingly more difficult, as well as finding qualified, professional staff. There are CNA's with valid California Certificates, and a drivers license and social security card issued in California, who, as I have personally witnessed-have confessed to the Department of Justice (in my building at the time)that they paid someone else to take the CNA exam for them. Of course, we let them go immediately, as they were no longer qualified to hold their position. I lost 10 CNA's in one week. To make things even better, the replacement staff sent to us were basically the same, except that they worked for a registry owned by the company, so therefore we did not have to retain any I9 forms. However, we also had no way of contacting the registry, except through a corporate person, and the registry refused to send us the required information as per regulations. i.e.- Thanks for the business, here is a copy of the CNA license for the individual(s)we are sending you. They also did not send them for orientation/skills checkoff as required. If you have had any of these types of staffing problems, and would like to assist with problem-solving in this or other areas, please feel free to comment. You may e-mail me at ygarami@yahoo.com also. Thank you for taking the time to check out my webpage, and I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely, Yvonne Garami LVN. Have a wondeful day!
