Reggae Night Pt2 and Pt3 were both a great success just like pt1 which you can read about in the below write up, also see links to pt1 and pt2 below which have pictures and video footage from the events.
We are still waiting for news of a new album and any new gig dates to be confirmed but I beleive the band have been concentrating on the local circuit at the moment, I heard that they were hoping to take a rest from giging for a while so maybe this indicates that they might be working on getting some recording done.
I have also heard that The Worries Band may be backing a jamaican artist on a tour around the UK so when this is confirmed I will dig for the details and share them with you as soon as.
Reggae Night @ the Copperfield..31st.Jan.2009 write up.
“Big band Big Band” Brap Brap what a wicked Gig, a wicked crowd and wicked tunes.
A massive Thank You to those die hard fans, New fans and Y'all that just appreciate good music; your presence was 2nd to none and you created a wicked atmosphere in da house...the night was enjoyed by every one, young and old, with a mix of classic Worries tunes combined with some old skool dancehall and lovers cover tracks just to mix it up proper Worries stylie.

UK Principal was brought back into the fold and after a song or two the late 90’s fans who turned up in abundance to show their support for The Worries Band “Daddy Alba” Era warmed to UK Principal as he showed that he had what it took to get the crowd rocking with songs like ‘Yout man’, Permanent’ and other classics such as ‘54 46’ and ‘wicked in a bed’ slipping in the occasional snippets of old Dancehall tunes such as ‘Jump and Sound’ and winding up with a Worries signature tune ‘Nightmare on Elm street’ which was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd.
-
Rudy Alba was on his usual form and got the ladies excited with classics such as ‘Lovin Pauper’ and Worries original roots tunes: ‘law maker’, in classic Rudy Alba style which we all know and love, and ‘Hard times’ which made into the line up for all of us who are feeling the pinch with this credit crunch.
Also making the line up were other Classic Worries Band tunes ‘Puff Puff Give’ and the long awaited Fire which is a great upbeat carnival tune which got the girls into a salsa mood, I am sure there would have been a few panties thrown on stage at this point if the weather had permitted....but it was damn cold out there so all under garments were held onto dearly....and it is a recession you know…never mind Rudy just wait until summer.
-
Animal got the crowd in the mood to grab their partners for a smooch with tracks such as ‘Girl I love you’ otherwise known as ‘Ice Cream’ The crowd were jumping for joy when he broke out into ‘What she wants’ which is loved by many including some Minors that could not attend due to them still being under age…..Don’t worry I am sure it will still be featured in a few years when you should be able to attend or maybe a people’s day gig could be arranged ….Mmmm now there’s a thought.
-
T.Bone gave the crown what they wanted with The Original Worries Rendition of Summer Breeze, after much chanting from the crowd….I just think he wanted us to beg and let me tell you we all got down our knees and did so as this classic just had to be played; The Worries Band video for this featured on men and motors frequently in 2001 so it is loved by all fans of that era, to watch it check out the worries band Myspace page.
-
All in all a wicked Gig……
