The Woolshed Backpackers is a small, quiet, friendly, family operated hostel and offers clean, comfortable and affordable quality accommodation.
The hostel is situated on a big property, right in the center of town, less than 5 minutes walk to the beach, restaurants, shops, supermarket, pubs and bars.
We like to do our best to make all our guests feel very welcome and at home and we do understand that travellers have different budgets, tastes and expectations. That's why we have set up a wide variety of rooms to cater for everyone. Our rooms are individually decorated, very comfortable, cosy and spotless clean.
You can choose between
- ensuite double, twin and triple rooms (private bathroom, TV, linen, doonas, towels, tea & coffee making facilities,
optional A/C + $2.50 pp) $30 pp
(triples can only be booked by a group of 3 - $25 pp)
- dorms (3 or 4 beds, no bunks, A/C, TV, DVD, linen,
doonas) $ 20 pp
- budget dorms (6 beds, linen) $ 18 pp
- delux doubles & twins (all with aircondition, TV, DVD, tea &
coffee making facilities,linen, doonas, towels) $ 26 pp
- standard doubles & twins (fan, linen, doonas, towels) $ 22 pp
There is also a wide range of Fraser Island tours departing from the Woolshed every day and can be booked through the hostel. For information on tours, please visit the Woolshed website.
Unlike a lot of inner city hostels that lack a garden and pleasant surroundings, our rooms are spread out over 3 buildings, situated within a large garden, surrounded by ponds, tropical vegetation, palm trees and gum trees. This natural bush setting attracts a lot of wildlife, there is daily parrot feeding, possums like to drop in for a visit and Hervey Bay's famous fruit bats can be spotted every night, as they fly in their thousands over the top of the Woolshed.
The best place to meet the other guests, make new friends, have a drink and chat is our common room. It is entirely built out of wood and oozes atmosphere and character. There is also a TV area and a well equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, gas cookers, micro wave and lots of cooking gear.
