COACHES NOTES TO SWIMMERS AND PARENTS:
THOUGHTS FROM THE EDITOR
1) Attendance to practice and meets are essenial to the success of Wood-Dale swim Team.
2) It is a very important life skill that we teach our kids to be responsible and dependable. If you are going to be part of the team then you need to be there to participate. If for some reason you can't make practice or meets please notify the coaches in writing. It is very upsetting to go to a meet to compete and so many of the swimmers just be a no show!
3) Coaches need to be treated with respect, this filters down from parents to children. The coaches have all the information they need to plan a meet against another team. They know the teams previous scores, the number of swimmers they have and also the events those swimmers have swum in the past. Please be a team player and allow the coaches to plan the meet for the best possible outcome for the "TEAM".
4) In swimming there are lots of individual goals and each and everyone should strive to consistently be moving to those best times each meet, but it is also a team sport and everyone gets stronger when they learn from one another. It's more fun for all involved and we all have some skills we can learn from others.
5)PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RESPOND UNDER THE GUESTBOOK IF YOU HAVE STRONG FEELINGS ABOUT THESE STATEMENTS. THROUGH CONVERSATION IS THE ONLY WAY TO OVERCOME ANY OBSTACLES THAT STAND IN OUR WAY OF BECOMING A VERY COMPETITIVE SWIM TEAM THAT IS ONE COHESIVE UNIT THAT MANY WANT TO BECOME PART OF.
