JESUS ONLY
Find out why Jesus is God
What will come of this web site I do not know. It is my intent to familiarize individuals with the knowledge of why so many people believe that Jesus is God. With that in mind I shall do the best I can to give you what God gives me to say on these following pages. My intent is to introduce you to God through Jesus Christ, and that you might meet Him in His throne room.
I will periodically add to this site as God gives me words to say. Hopefully, we shall both learn and grow together. I do not know if the following information will come in chapter form or if I will only keep writing. Now may God bless us richly in Jesus' name and bless this endeavor greatly!
To begin...
God promised us a Savior through the writing of the prophet Isaiah. Chapter 9:6 declares that God would send a child, a son. If you keep reading you will note that this son shall be called the mighty God, the everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace. Not many christians have trouble with believing Jesus to be the Prince of Peace, but many have trouble believing He is the Mighty God and the Everlasting Father.
With this in mind we come to the New Testament where it is declared that the child shall be called Emmanuel. Emmanuel is interpreted as 'God with us'. Now how is it that this Mighty God, this Everlasting Father can be a son. I admit, I do not have the answers to everything, but I do know what God has shown me. And, that will I reveal to you as I continue.
Remember, the son is to be known as the 'Messiah'. This is interpreted as 'the anointed flesh of God'. Consider it this way. The person that I am is really only my spirit. That that resides within me. But you see me as a person named William McIntyre. So it is with God. It is really God inside the body of the Son. But we see Him as Jesus Christ.
Philip in St. John 14 in verse 8 and those that follow also was confused at this and he asked Jesus to show him the Father. Jesus replied that if you see ME you see the FATHER. That is true because God was in Jesus and He(God) was beheld as the Christ.
I know that this may be different than what you have learned in the past, but God wants you to know the truth about Him. I was taught at an early age that there were three separate persons of God...the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. What I am trying to show you is that there are NOT three separate persons of God, but only ONE and He has been known in these three different capacities. Think of this...I am my mother's son, I am my children's father, I am a student, I am a retiree, but I am just that ONE person at the same time. If I were to sign a million dollar check for you (which would bounce!!) as father, son, student, and retiree the bank would not honor it because it does not bear my name. So we see...that Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are only titles, but the owner of those titles bears the name of Jesus. Jesus said that He came in His Father's name and when He leaves, the Comforter (the Holy Ghost) shall be sent in His name. That name is Jesus. Read St. John the 14th chapter to verify this.
Before Jesus ascended to heaven He told his disciples to go into the whole earth and baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. So, when the day of Pentecost arrived and Peter spoke to the audience present in verse 38 of Acts 2, he told them to repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. He knew that name...Jesus. And so with research you will find that the only way the people were baptized according to the book of Acts was in the name of Jesus, in the name of the Lord Jesus, or in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is NO reference of any one being baptized in 'the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost'. If someone had been there would be an example of it. But, there is no such example.
I leave you now until the next time.
Before I continue here is a little about myself. Born July 5th, 1952. At a young age my mother sent me off to a neighborhood church...Lutheran. This is where I got my foundation. I was baptized as an infant in 'the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost'. As a teenager I met a young man whose father was a minister at a Baptist church. In due course of time I went to the alter and 'gave my heart to the Lord'. At that moment I must admit that I felt something happen to me, call it supernatural if you like, but it kind of scared me. It was as if God had marked me as His. Thereafter I was baptized again in 'the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost'.
Years later I was heavy into reading positive thinking books and noticed that most declared that you could do almost anything if you just had 'faith'. Shortly afterwards I bought a Bible determined to read it from cover to cover to find out what was in it for myself. All I really knew was what other people had told me. During this time my path crossed with someone from an Assembly of God church. This is where I first noticed the power of the Holy Ghost. I wanted this Holy Ghost. I mean REALLY. Again I was baptized in 'the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost'. No offense, but I just didn't seem to be any better off than I had been.
I used to pray to God in Jesus name and then I remembered a scripture from the Old Testament which says that God is a jealous God. Well, if there were three of them I had to pray to, I had to make sure I gave each of them equal time because I knew one would be jealous. This was confusing!! But remember, in the New Testament we are told that confusion is of the devil. Something just wasn't clicking. Then I met a man at work.
After explaining to him how vigorous I was about receiving the Holy Ghost he asked me how I was baptized. By now you know it was in 'the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost'. That's when he told me I had been baptized wrong. WRONG!! Boy did this guy just turn me off. I read the Bible for myself don't you know! So I asked him if he could show it to me in the Bible. He went for his Bible and I said to just tell me where I could find the information (I didn't know what kind of Bible he was dealing with!!!). So, he told me to look in Acts 2:38. I took this knowledge back with me to look in my own Bible intent to prove him wrong. But you know what, it was right there in my own Bible, to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and get this, if I did this, God would just give me the Holy Ghost. It took a while but eventually I went to an Apostolic church and sure enough, after being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, God did just what He promised. He gave me the Holy Ghost. THIS is when I really met God!! It was September 16th, 1977.
This event is commonly referred to in biblical jargon as being 'born again'. And I KNEW that it had happened to me. I praised God in another language (tongues, if you prefer) and this was witnessed by myself and many others in the room where it occured. What had finally happened in my life was that I had been awakened. To be more specific...the 'I' in me had been awakened. I don't want to get to far ahead of myself though.
Over a period of years I grew in the grace of God. Sitting under the instruction of what I believe to be a great man, Norman Wagner. In 1991, I left that church disappointed in myself as well as the church I attended. On my part, sin had blocked my relationship with God (and I was 'aware' of it). The church, in my view, was not operating correctly...money seemed to be a stumbling block (use of it was not properly administered). Since that time I have attended many churches, but they didn't offer the indepth teaching I was used to receiving. So, I have been kind of a wandering soul since that time. But thanks be to God, He has been good to me inspite of myself. And this is why I'm here at this web site, to tell you what God puts in my 'ear'.
Now I should tell you that there are many ways to be 'awakened'.
The down side of this though is Jesus said if you come to God any other way than through the Son you are 'a thief and a robber'. I'm not saying that you can't learn something from these other methods. But you need to be 'aware' of what you find by using them. You will have a decision to make once you find the 'One, the Universal Spirit'. Knowing that you have come in contact with this 'One', it should come to you that this 'One' should have a name. Is that so strange? You have a name, so why shouldn't this 'One' have a name? So this is where battle lines are drawn.
Take an example from St. Paul. When he was still known as Saul he terribly persecuted the christians. His lineage is heavily laden through Israeli stock, a staunch Israelite citizen respected by many in his country. On a journey one day to Damascus he had a 'spiritual incident' happen to him. Remember now that Saul was a believer in one God, Jehovah, and he like so many Israelites would not be moved from this point (good for you Saul!!). During this experience he was called 'supernaturally'.
And Saul responded by asking 'Who are you Lord'? Or, what is your name? What he heard in reply probably astounded him for he was told ' I am Jesus...'. This is a man whose whole life was dedicated to serving God known to him as Jehovah and now he is told his name is Jesus. What a revelation!! Scripture tells us that He gave Him a name above all other names.
So what do we do now? Some believe his name to be Jesus. And some believe his name to be something other than Jesus...like Jehovah, Mohammed, or anything else that may be used in our day and age. What do you call God? If you say O, Father, you have not incorporated a name, only a title. My children call me Daddy. But let one of them get lost in a mall and find a security officer for help. When asked who they want found, if they reply Daddy, this would be of no help for the officer would want my name. And if they should ask for Michael I would not reply because my name is William.
I am going to move on to another thought now. I will tell you of a story which happened to me while at work one day some 3 to 4 years ago.
Here I am reading again as usually was my case while doing boring line assembly work. This day was different though because God spoke to me while I was doing my job. The words that were coming to me were unlike any I had ever considered before. And then God told me 'Remember this'. And again 'Remember this'. And yet again 'Remember this'. I was scared. I started to shake. When I had a chance I got a pen and paper and began to write down what He had given me.
I do not remember word for word today what exactly was said but I still remember the whole concept. When I declare that I am going to work...I say, 'I am going to work'. Another person may comment, 'I am going to the bathroom'. While yet another may say, 'I am shopping for my husband'. This can go on seemingly endlessly if you consider how many people there are. Each at one time or another says, 'I am ...doing, saying, working, whatever'. In my case I declare that 'I' am doing this thing. In another case you are saying 'I' am doing such and such. The question is...Is this 'I' that is in me related to the 'I' that is in another person. And, for the first time in my life the term 'I-ness' came to me. It is my position that after much thought and going over on scripture that there is a connection between the 'I' in me and the 'I' in another person.
By this time you are probably thinking that I am quite the heretic, and I don't blame you. I have often thought that maybe I'm going crazy or something. But then I remember that this is what God is giving me. Well, here goes....
Just what is the mystery of Godliness? We are told it is 'Christ in you, the hope of glory'. So when you are born again, this is what you become 'aware' of. That Christ is in you. Now, did people see God...in Christ? No. They saw Jesus the Christ and some believed that God was in Him. Well, do people see Christ in me? No. But some may believe that Christ is in William McIntyre. Do people see Christ in others? No. But some may believe that Christ is in some of those.
Now, if Christ is in you, and the Bible tells us that, then all the attributes of Christ are in you. He told us He is the resurrection. Then that means the resurrection is IN you. He told us that He is the door. Then that means that the door is IN you. We are told that He is the way, the truth, and the life. That means that the way, the truth, and the life are IN you. Are you ready for this? We are told that the world was made by Him. That makes Him the creator. Then that means the creator is IN you. And this is what God is wanting us to become 'aware' of. Wow!!
This does NOT mean we are THE 'Christ'. But, we are like brothers to Him, only He is the first born. It is because of Him that we are able to share in His glory.
So...when I speak for myself...or, my Self...my Self is the 'I' that is in me. But, Jesus is telling us that 'I' am in you. Well then, that would make the 'I' in each of us Jesus. We can do one of three things. Either admit that 'Chirst' is in me. Or, declare it is Our Self, our Self then belonging to whoever decides that. Or lastly, decide that it is none of these and that we 'hear' from someone else. Isaial 66 tells us there are three 'voices'. The voice of the temple...Our Self...the voice of the Lord...and the voice of the city...which is neither Our voice or the Lord's.
This is what's so amazing. We were told this 'ages' ago. Remember in Exodus He declared 'I am that I am'. The way God said it to me is 'I am that I that is in you'. Chew on this a while and I will come back at another time.
Well, hopefully, I have not turned you off completely by now and that you will continue reading.
At this point I need to clarify my position on these matters. By saying that Christ is in you, I need to constantly be reminded of that fact...that Christ IS in you. And, I should treat you as if He certainly IS in you regardless of whether you are 'aware' of this or not. But this is where I, myself, fail because I don't realize this at ALL times. If I did I would not treat anyone with disrespect. And this angers me. For I do tend to forget. It is almost as if I 'lose' my mind for a period of time. This is why we are to love one another. This is why we are to treat everyone as brethren. It is not because one
