Lilo and Stitch

Main Feature:
Lilo and Stitch was Disney's main animated feature of 2002, and rightfully so. It may have been offbeat compared to usual Disney fare, but it was still certainly an entertaining film.
For those of you who aren't in the know, here's a synoposis stolen from the back of the disc :):
"On the lush and tropical Hawaiian islands, a lonely little girl named Lilo adopts what she thinks is an innocent puppy. She names her new "pet" Stitch, completely unaware that he is a dangerous genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet. Stitch's only interest in Lilo is using her as a human shield to evade the alien bounty hunters who are intent on recapturing him. in the end, it is Lilo's unwavering faith in "ohana", the Hawaiian tradition of family, that unlocks Stitch's heart and gives him the one thing he was never designed to have - the ability to care for someone else."
It really is a heartwarming movie, and you fall in love the believable, realistic characters of Lilo, the cute Stitch, and their family. The resolution of the story warms your heart, and is the perfect way to end this short but sweet (82 mins) movie. There may be critics who say it doesn't stand up as one of Disney's best ofa ll-time, but in my opinion it really does. Highly recommended. 9/10

Packaging:
A nice snapper case made of plastic that looks like it will last. the disc stays in place well, and there's a nice insert. Very good. 9/10

Audio:
DD5.1 or DTS.. the film couldn't sound better. The best thing about the disc, stunning. 10/10

Video:
Nice, clear 1.85:1 widescreen. looks great; the animation is crystal clear with no grain or anything wrong at all. The colours are great, too. Again, stunning presentation. 10/10

Price:
Nowadays, about a tenner.. great value, though there's an SE coming soon I hear.. 8/10

Extras:
As I mentioned above, with an SE coming soon, there's not a massive bulk of features here, but there's still a good amount for 1 disc.
There's a 'Disneypedia' section about the islands of Hawaiil; a rather rubbish 'Alien Experiment Game' involving answering questions to create an alien; three music videos incuding Gareth Gates and the A-Teens; trailers; deleted scenes with director intros; three very good, albeit fairly short featurettes on the film, and one more short feature giving you a 'Hula Lesson'; and subtitles and scne selection. Nice menus too.. overall a good selection, but the bulk will hopefully be on the SE. 8/10

Overall:
A lovely Disney modern classic presented brilliantly. 88%

Average:
90%

Family-Friendly Rating:
All, like most Disney movies, no objectionable content.
