David Blaine: Above The Below
Main Feature:
Unless you were living in a cave from June to November, you'll know about David Blaine's, critically-acclaimed illusionist, latest stunt. He spent 44 days and 44 nights encased in a glass box hanging above the Thames with no food and just water - pure water - to drink. It was certainly an interesting, shocking and unexplainable stunt. On this DVD is the complete show about the stunt which aired on C4, including his magnificent entry, footage from memorable moments inside the box, his unforgettable exit, and a short arty film made by his filmmaker friend featuring him in the box. There's also 35 minutes of extra scenes from that show, including more interesting footage from the event. that totals around 80 minutes already, and I wouldn't have been surprised if VCI ahd left us with just that. But kindly, they also included the 45 minute special focusing on his previous stunt, "Vertigo", in which he stood on a 100ft high, 12 by 12 inches pole in New York for 35 hours, after which he jumped off, into a pile of cardboard boxes. That totals over 2 hours of David Blaine footage here - an excellent amount of entertainment by the excellent illusionist.
For fans of the magician, this is an obvious buy. for those who enjoy his stunts, again this is a great buy. But for those who disbelieve or dislike the person or his stunts, I recommend you buy this and check him out again. This DVD contains him performing street magic as well, and I guarantee it will have you dazzled. He really is an amazing guy. Like most DVD's, this gets a 10/10 in this section, the shows just really are that entertaining. Brilliant. 10/10
