Women's flip flops, sun dresses, bikinis, and...

Chicago just had four days in a row of 90 plus degree temperatures. This is a new record. This past year was a lot cooler. I don't remember it reaching 90 until August.

And with summer time, comes with it a great deal of fun. Flip flops, our time within the beach, backyard grilling. And I know very a few people who love to visit places like Wisconsin Dells. The land of drinking water parks.

Unfortunately this article is going to touch on a subject that's not as much fun as all that sounds.

But 1 in 5 in Bangladesh are perishing from arsenic found in their drinking water.

About thirty years ago, Bangladesh dug a bunch of wells in their country to provide water. But they ended up tapping into arscenic deposits and it toxified all that water they were intending to provide.

Arsenic is really a bad toxin. Despite the fact that it is tasteless and colorless, it's been connected to cancer as well as a number of other illnesses impacting the heart, liver, and skin.

People are dying, families are ill, and it's even wrecking people's social standing which is actually still a very important part of the culture in Bangladesh.

This came to my awareness at a really coincidental occasion. It was just the next day after I was watching Last Comic Standing. There was a comic on there: Kyle Grooms. He has got a thought provoking piece regarding drinking water and water theme parks.

Essentially, here is all these places on the planet where people require water that is clean, and here I am in the us playing in it. Going down slides into tanks filled with it.

And then there is our bottled water. The thoroughly clean plain faucet water isn't good enough, or so we are meant to think through some smart marketing. So we purchase the bottled stuff.I know. I'm sorry. Summer is generally a time to have lots of enjoyment and shake off the blues from all of the cloudy weather of the remainder of the year. Especially here in Chicago with our brutal winters.

But it is likely worth mentioning to help us not ignore all of the amazing activities we get to accomplish here in the us.

I would also like to raise some attention for Charity Water. This is an organization merely focused on bringing clean water to places like Bangladesh. I've give them quite a bit of money simply because it's really a fantastic cause. Additionally, it makes a great gift.

So instead of worrying about the common "what am I going to buy the individual who has everything". I contribute money to Charity Water on their behalf. I especially do this, after I discover that presents I've given people are just sitting around not getting used.

This write-up was inspired from a love of reading about women's flip flops and style. It doesn't as a rule have to be about shopping. :)
