About 65% of Americans are overweight. Being overweight is not only unsightly and uncomfortable, but it is also unhealthy, for it puts a person at significantly greater risk for developing hypertension, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. Unfortunately, losing weight (and keeping it off) can be very difficult--until, that is, a person finds a weight loss regimen which is not only effective but also can be faithfully adhered to.
There are a great many weight loss programs currently on the market. Unfortunately, such programs are often little more than fad diets that are nutritionaly unbalanced and, therefore, unhealthful. In addition, because these programs inevitably lead to food cravings caused by nutritional deficiencies, they are, in the long run, unsustainable.
