VINTAGE RVs AND MORE

ABOVE PHOTO: The above photo is included in the book: Silver Avions and Cayos. Jess and Shirley Cosby's granddaughter, Tanner, is entertaining the Avioners with a concert. She is a remarkable young lady. On one occasion, when she was small enough to climb thru the outside compartment door on a motor home, she helped the motor home owner get in the motor home, which was running with the doors locked and no keys.

There are a number of photos of ATC and SAF Rallies and many others concerning Avion/Cayo history, etc. (about 200 photos altogether) in the book.

Also in the book: several photos of repair work by Cayo Repair Service being done to some "totaled Avions". These Avion coaches required new ribs, skin, inside cabinet work, etc. There are also some photos of some custom built campers and even a class C motor home that Bill Cayo built in the mid 1980s. Details about the book can be accessed by clicking the Bob's Point of View link at the bottom of this page.

In the "Muncy's Photo Gallery" Section (click link at the bottom of this page) I would like to comment about three photos in the TCT May 2006-2008 Album. This album contains a selection of vintage RVs that attended the TCT Gathering during those years.

1. Note Forrest and Jeri Bone's blue 194? American Trailer. This is a really neat RV that was made for a few years in MI. The Bones have a collection of Vintage RVs.

2. Note the Restored Spartan (with the blue stripe and # 1 at the top). This is super nice. In my opinion, the aircraft-constructed Spartan that was made just after WWII by the Spartan Aircraft Company in Oklahoma, is one of the very nicest and strongest coaches ever built.

3. I have to call attention to the 1941 Chevrolet tow vehicle that is parked in front of a Vintage Airstream. Jewel Dee and I owned a 1941 Chevy in the late 1940s and early 1950s. It made a hard trip to Seattle from Dallas when I was aboard ship and hurriedly came home on leave to get Jewel Dee. We had an apartment in Seattle and when we came back to our home port (Seattle) to reload troops for deployment in Korea, we could be together a few days each time. That 1941 Chevy brings back some precious memories.
