VETERINARY TRAUMA CENTER
The Center, located in Groveland, Florida, is designed to render state of the art, small animal surgical, intensive and urgent care for the sick and injured. We are dedicated to professional yet humane patient treatment. The center limits service to surgery and major medical and does not offer routine wellness care.
Our Chief of Staff, Dr. Ronald W. Stone, is a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami's School of Medicine. During his twenty five year career he has served as President of the South Florida and Lake County Veterinary Medical Associations and as Executive Secretary for three national veterinary associations, including the prestigious Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. For ten years he chaired the Animal Care Committee of the famous Miami Heart Institute, and is a member of "Who's Who in Veterinary Medicine."
HOURS
Doctor's hours by appointment = 9am - 12pm and 2 pm to 5 pm Mon - Fri
Morning pet "drop offs" accepted from 8am-Noon . All "Pick ups" in afternoon except Sat.
Saturdays = 9am - 1pm. Sundays - Emergencies only
Emergency On-Call Service
Everyday- Mon. - Sun. 8am - 1 am (Please call ahead)
SERVICES
Surgery: General, Orthopedic, Reconstructive, and External ophthalmic
Major medical: Acute illness, intensive and critical care
EMERGENCIES
The Veterinary Trauma Center handles all after hours small animal emergencies,
7 days a week until 1 am. Please call ahead to notify us of your arrival and to receive first aid instructions. Please note that after hours we operate as a doctor
"On Call Service" rather than a "walk-in"clinic . This means the doctor is on phone or beeper to respond to your emergency, but may not be present in the center.
After 1 am you may be directed to one of the other regional emergency clinics.
