WHO WE ARE:
Veterans Strike Force is a volunteer, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, and is currently headquartered at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. Our motto is “Vets Helping Vets.” We are fast growing, and currently comprise a membership of approximately 1,400 veterans. Our ultimate goal is to expand the services we provide on a national basis.
OUR MISSION & SERVICE EFFORTS:
Some of the services that we offer include:
· Volunteer services at VA hospitals
· Advocate for veterans benefits
· Work closely with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Illinois State Department of Veterans Affairs to insure veterans receive the best help available when accessing the VA for benefits
· Provide information on VA educational programs, including Vocational Rehabilitation and the Upward Bound Program
· Minority veteran services
· Women veteran services
· Rental assistance referrals to Veterans Assistance Commission and the Department of Human Services
· Housing referrals to VA Homeless Program, Catholic Charities, Inner Voice, and other community-based programs
· Social services to include VA out-patient groups and Veterans Resource Center referrals
· Voters registration
· Support the efforts of our active duty military counterparts, including an on-going letter writing campaign to currently deployed troops
We are truly focused on the plight of the veteran.

What makes us special?
Twice a year, Veterans Strike Force pays particular attention to the plight of the homeless veteran and their families by hosting a BBQ in the summer and a Christmas party during the holidays. These events are recognized throughout the city of Chicago and provide a means for sponsors to contribute to a group of veterans often overlooked by society: the Homeless Vet.
Veterans Strike Force accepts donations, year-round, and is specifically interested in:
· New coats, shoes and boots (both male and female)
· New children’s toys
· Meat, in August and December only
· Bus passes
· Postage and stamps
Monetary donations are always welcomed, as we are a tax-deductible, 501(c)(3) organization!
