VeeJay's Writing Accomplishments

*****October 2002** I was a Runner Up in the Galleria Eros Writer's Lounge 2002 Short Story Competition (www.writerslounge.org) for my short story, "Uncommon Bond." It is the complicated love story of two people who innocently meet, and are forbidden to be with each other. Deciding to go against her mother's wishes, they continue to communicate and eventually fall in love. The couple eventually decide to elope. But soon after returning from the elopment, they are confronted with their parents' past transgressions which forces them to make the most painful, heart-wrenching decision that they will ever have to make.

*****I have five (5) letters that have been accepted into the Celebrations Anthologies for The Dawkins Project- www.thedawkinsproject.com, entitled, Notes to My Mother, Notes to My Son, Notes to God, Notes to My Father and Notes to My Grandmother. Publication for these Anthologies should begin in Summer of 2003.

*****My Poem, "What Foods Would Have Made You Grow," is included in an anthology, "Down The Cereal Aisle," a book of memories remembering our lost love ones and the foods they loved by Author Alice Wisler. The book was released April 2003 by Daniel's House Publications, (www.geocities.com/griefhope/index.html). My poem was written in honor of my son, Jalen who passed away on September 30, 1994.
