Veteran's Affairs Police - Phoenix, AZ

Welcome to the Phoenix VA Police website! Here you will find important information, photos, and details about us, what we do, and what's coming up.

We are located at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center, 650 E. Indian School, Phoenix AZ. (corner of Indian School and 7th Street)

We are sworn Federal police officers. Our mission is to provide quality law enforcement to the Veterans, employees, and visitors to our VA Medical Center. We enjoy a good working relationship with local law enforcement and public safety agencies.

The Veterans Affairs Police is the largest uniformed federal police force in the nation with over 2200 officers assigned to 171 duty stations.

On July 22, 2004, President Bush signed into law the 'Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act', which allows all police officers, active or retired, to carry concealed firearms. For more information see the LEAA website.

We have several officers who are certified as Bike Officers. We use Trek mountain bikes and will soon be starting our own bike certification program for our officers. If you are interested in what Bike Officers do, go to the LEBA website.

On the Main VA Police website in its FAQ section, you will see a statement saying that most VA Police Officers do not carry firearms. The truth is that nearly all VA Police Officers now carry firearms and receive extensive training on them, as well as Use of Force criteria.

"DON'T EVER QUIT!"
