Vincent's 2nd Battalion Field Music
In 1998, Vincent's 2nd Battalion Field Music was formed from re-enactors in the various units belonging to Vincent's Brigade, 2nd Battalion. Since then, the unit has performed at many large and small Civil War reenactments. For the past three years they have been the field music demonstration corps at the Gettysburg reenactments. The group also has performed in the Columbus Day Parade in New York City, with the 39th NYSV(Garibaldi Guard). The current roster of the unit includes 9 fifes, 14 drums, 3 buglers and a drum major. Ages range from 11 to 50. The current repertoire of the units includes about 40 songs. The main focus of the corps is to provide a learning environment for the novice musician wanting to learn about Civil War fifing or drumming. The group is based out of the Gettysburg/Harrisburg, Pa. area. Anyone who is interested, please contact us about being a member. We are available for parades and events also, on dates that we are not at reenactments.
