Hello to all the Union Coffeehouse family & friends. Now that we have reached the end of our fifth season of presenting live music, as always, we would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU!! Thank you to all of you for your continued support. Thank You to all the volunteers who help set-up and break-down, to all of our bakers, to the artists that have performed for us over the past five years, and a big heartfelt Thank You...to all of you that continue to come to the shows. It can be pretty hectic, getting the seasons schedule put together, with all the time and planning that is involved...but, when we see the joy and the fellowship that comes from this journey we're all traveling together...it makes it all worth while! It's the reason that we do it...that and because we LOVE the music as much as you do!!

Doors Open @ 7:00pm
Opener goes on @ 7:30pm
Featured Artist goes on @ 8:00pm
Tickets: $12.00 (For most shows, Oct. Show - $15.00)
(-$1.00 with donation of a non-perishable item for the Food Pantry)

We have truly enjoyed having the local High School aged students act as openers for our feature artists. Although we've been unable to find students for every show, our plan is to keep moving forward with this format. We continue to search for talented students from right here in East Bridgewater and the surrounding towns that may not always have the opportunity to play at public venues, due to their age... but don't let their age fool you, some of these young artists are hugely talented and are the "Feature Artists" of the future.

Speaking of the future...we're BOOKED for Next Season...and what a line-up we have for you!! You thought I was excited about last year? Wait until you see this years line-up!! Don't get me wrong, last year was GREAT and we enjoyed everyone that played...but I think this year has the potential to be even better!! For those of you that already know them, I'll be taking your calls and e-mails for reservations early, I'm sure! If you haven't heard some of these folks yet, PLEASE...visit their links below and I'm sure your calls and e-mail won't be to far behind.

Kicking-off this amazing season, on October 24th, will be...........

VANCE GILBERT - Vance Gilbert burst onto the singer/songwriter scene in the early 90's when buzz started spreading in the folk clubs of Boston about an ex-multicultural arts teacher who was knocking 'em dead at open mics. Once word got to New York about this Philadelphia-area born and raised performer, Shawn Colvin invited Gilbert to be a special guest on her Fat City tour. Gilbert took audiences across the country by storm.
"With the voice of an angel, the wit of a devil, and the guitar playing of a god, it was enough to earn him that rarity: an encore for an opener" - The Fort Worth Star-Telegram

On November 21st, A Union Coffeehouse favorite will return......... JUD CASWELL - Jud Caswell first hit the folk scene in 2006, earning a buzz of attention with a long string of wins at some of the most prestigious songwriting contests in the country. A native Mainer, his songs have a distinctively regional voice that celebrates the often hard beauty of rural life. This voice grew out of more than ten years of writing and performing in Maine - starting a family - putting down roots in his own home town. It's a grounding that lends an easy, unassuming air to Jud's performances.

On December 12th - A Union Coffeehouse Christmas.................... This is still a plan in progress, but we hope to have an evening of Traditional Christmas Carols, Hot Coccoa, Cider and Sing-a-Longs. (Details and more definate information to follow.)

On January 30th, we are very excited to welcome..................... LES SAMPOU - Les Sampou has been in demand as a live performer for two decades, playing clubs and concert halls and such prestigious festivals as Montreal Jazz Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival (where she won the coveted New Folk Award out of 700 contestants), The Philadelphia Folk Festival, and Falcon Ridge to name a few. She has given workshops at Berklee School of Music and appeared on the top syndicated radio programs such as Acoustic Cafe, World Cafe, and NPR. Sampou has released four albums: two on her own label, MoNando Music, and two on Rounder Records, all grabbing the attention of DJs and press people nationwide who gave her unanimous praise. Her second album, "Fall from Grace", topped the Gavin Americana charts nationwide. Boston radio station WUMB awarded her "Best New Artist of the Year."
"Sampou is a chanteuse with a voice capable of ripping off rafter-raising blues tunes and then turning even grand concert halls into house concerts with her intimate balladry." - Boston Globe

On February 27th, we look forward to welcoming..................... REBECCA KATZ - Rebecca Katz's favorite four-letter word is "folk."
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Rebecca has been singing, making up songs, and making noise on various instruments since she was very young. At 13, she picked up her dad's guitar so she could be the cool counselor at summer camp. A year later, she wrote her first original tune and has been writing ever since. In college at Brandeis University, Rebecca played more than 80 shows on campus. Now a nationally-touring artist based in the rich Boston folk scene, Rebecca has entertained audiences at venues up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Rebecca truly has an acoustic heart. An explorer of a myriad of genres, she will always come home to one hundred percent handmade music. Rebecca considers herself a lifelong student of language and songwriting, as you might expect of an artist with a Master's in English Literature. Like her hero, Nanci Griffith, she is equally devoted to penning new songs and passing on traditional tunes and favorites by fellow writers. Above all, Rebecca enjoys connecting with people through music. On stage, equipped with a clear, confident voice, she can as easily evoke laughter from her audiences as improvised harmony. Equal parts songwriter and storyteller, she is all-heart all the time, and brings her special touch to every room she plays.

And closing out our season, on March 20th, we welcome back.......... KINDRED - Katie & Annie (and friends), will join us once again for our annual "Irish Night"...on this night, everyone is Irish!! This night is a little different than our regular events. We'll offer an evening of traditional Irish Faire (Shepherd's Pie & Boiled Dinner). Your ticket ($17.00) includes, dinner, refreshments, dessert and the evenings entertainment. (Tonight is by reservation only as we have pretty much Sold-Out the last couple of years.)

Please continue to check the web-page during the course of the season for any updates and any new information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time via e-mail or phone.
