Welcome to Tyrone Turner's webpage!

Above is a picture of me (in the center) and my martial arts instructor, Roman Lutak, Kyoshi (7th degree). David Jenkins is looking on as Kyoshi demonstrates a defense against the infamous "sucker punch".

Thanks for stopping by. I'm a 38-year-old family man from Queens, New York. Currently I work as a business developer for a major international litigation support company. I'm also a home-based entrepreneur.

Out of all of the things that I've done in my life, teaching was by far the most rewarding thing that I've ever done. I taught at a small alternative high school in the East New York section of Brooklyn. There were a few emotionally challenging and character-building days, but all things being considered, teaching in the NYC public schools was a wonderful experience. I really miss my students and visit them from time to time. NYC has some wonderful young people and some great teachers.

I’m not all business all the time though. For fun I like comedy shows, Jazz and R&B concerts, reading (history, anthropology, self-improvement, science fiction, and suspense), exercising, and the martial arts / combat sports.

My interest in exercise led me to become a certified fitness consultant. My newly acquired knowledge and experience has taught me that people are wasting a lot of time and money trying to become slim and trim. I really want to help people save time and money, so I decided to blow the whistle on all of the nonsense that is being told and sold, and point people in the right direction.

Being a certified fitness trainer is no big deal - anyone can do it as long as you have the money to pay for certification. I don't mean to ruffle feathers, but it is kind of a joke to get certified. That is one reason why there is so much miseducation going on.

Not everyone is a legitimate fitness trainer - especially online. One gent that has a lot of great free info on his website is Wayne "Scrapper" Fisher.

What first attracted me to the martial arts is the desire to develop practical self-protection skills, but as I've gone along in my training, I have found training in the martial arts to be a great way to stay fit, relieve stress, and develop a tenacious mindset - all of which have positive carry-over into other areas of life like family and work. You just might like it.

Finally, as a home-based entrepreneur, I discovered that the best way to become successful in your business is to partner up (i.e. network) with other sales reps, home-based entrepreneurs, and small business owners to share ideas and refer customers to each other. I was dissatisfied with the networking events available, so I partnered up with a few highly-motivated, self-starters and we formed Grassroots Business Network, LLC. We have quality networking events and training seminars in the greater NYC metro area. The seminars are in areas that are relevant to sales reps and business owners of all sorts (e.g. sales, marketing, advertising, effective networking and follow-up strategies, business development, incentive programs for increased productivity, and wellness).

Hopefully, we'll see you at one of our future events.

Again, thanks for stopping by.
