COSHAN: For the Love of Tibetan Terriers
WE HAVE BABIES!!! SEE ABBY'S PAGE...
My husband, David and I reside in western Massachusetts and have seven Tibetan Terriers. Cosmo, Hannah, Bonnie, Suzi, Abby, Sophie and now Tae'. The above picture is of Cosmo, Hannah and one of their pups, Tucker who lives at his wonderful forever home. If you haven't figured it out the name CosHan is from Cosmo and Hannah.
I am listed on the Tibetan Terrier Club of America breeder referral and am the current Membership Chairperson as well as a member of the Board of Directors for the 2009/2011 term for the club. At the annual meeting in Syracuse, NY held in conjuction with the National specialy I was suprised with the AKC Outstanding Sportmanship Award, very exciting. My husband and I are both members of the Bay Colony Tibetan Terrier Club of which I am the current secretary. If you have questions regarding this great breed, either write me at the e-mail address at the bottom or phone me at 413-532-1879 or my cell 413-537-5021.
Cosmo, Hannah, Suzi and Sophie have OFA excellent hips and Abby has OFA good hips, Tae' is still to young, all the dogs are CERF'd annually. Abby and Tae' are both Baer tested and Abby is on the CHIC register. All the dogs have been DNA tested for the NCL and PLL. It is very exciting times we live in that we can now breed our dogs without any worry about passing on these illnesses. Health has always been of foremost importance to us, I am a veterinary technician, which sometimes my guys probably wish I wasn't. We have been blessed with the best temprements you could ask for. Any sire we use has to be a gentleman as we do not wish to breed in any undesirable atitudes. Love bugs are what we like.
Cosmo (Riverviews Cosmopolitan Lad) was our first TT and he introduced us to this wonderful breed, after knowing Cos we were hooked. He is a Champion, finishing at the 2002 Bay Colony Tibetan Terrier Club Specialty in Topsfield MA. He is our little man and his beautiful attitude, warm heart and happy smile always leave us wanting more, we cherish him.
Hannah (Excalibur's Lady of the Lake) finished her championship on August 2, 2003. She received 3 Best of Breeds and a Group 4 placement from the classes. She enjoyed agility and took several classes just for fun. She is an excellent mom, very sweet and caring. She is now retired from breeding and is the doting Grandma. Her grandpuppies think they have 2 mommies. She certainly has done everything I could possibly have ever requested of her and more. She is just a wonderful girl.
Bonnie, (Tingsha Salishan Bonnie Blue)is just a little bundle of energy and cuteness. She started her show career but unfortunatly was unable to finish and has been spayed. With her sweet attitude she will just be the the best auntie any puppies could ever ask for. We just love her to death.
Suzi (Coshan Mai Li Nu Hai) is a daughter of Cosmo and Hannah. She was a June '04 baby. She is a beautiful example of the breed and just a joy to live with. She had her first litter in November 2007 and unfortunatly Suzi had much difficulty delivering her second litter in February of 2009 so that will be her last.
Than there's Abby (Coshan's Grand Carousel) who was born in January 2005, also a daughter of Cosmo and Hannah. She is just as sweet as can be and is also a champion, finishing on October 20, 2007, and receiving an invitation to Eukanuba. What a thrill. Her first litter was born on July 20, 2008 and her son Jordan will be in the ring with his new Mom. Mario, from the same litter, had his first show was at the nationals in Denver (09) where he took reserve winners dog. He went on to CA to live and finished his championship in no time at all.
Sophie, Suzi's daughter has grown up nicely. She has started her little show carreer at the Bay Colony Specialty in Topsfield June 2008. She did a great job and we have high hopes she will continue to do so. She was bred and has had her first litter 6/10/09, an unplanned but very nice litter. She did a great job, we are very proud of her. We hope to get her back out to play in the ring at some point in time.
Tae, Suzi's daughter is very full of herself. A little black and white spitfire who is silvering nicely. She is doing wonderfully in the show ring, has a great time and seems to love showing her little self off. I have no doubt she will finish fairly fast as she got a 5 point major at one of her early shows and although we do not go often is more than half finished.
The 7 of them are just a joy to behold, whether they are running together playing in the yard or just hanging out with us on the couch. We just love them all so much, they make our lives whole.
Doing the dog shows is something I enjoy doing, it is not a business move, I do not ever plan to advertise that I have a ton of champions under my belt because that is not what is most important to me. When I breed a litter it is more important to find the best, most loving homes for them.
Although Hannah and Suzi are done having puppies there are still pictures of all their puppies in their gallery for everyone to see. The other girls each have their own gallaries on their pages as our COSHAN family grows. The gallary below has some fun general pictures of our dogs and puppies that have gone on to their forever homes.
I will be updating and adding to this site periodically. I'm looking forward to chatting with other TT people and hope we can share our adventures and love of the breed. Say hello in the guestbook, unfortunatley, all the entries prior to early 2006 have vanished. E-mail me directly to chat as I only check the message board occasionally. Check out the individual pages of our dogs by clicking on the jump, or check out the gallery of pictures. Oh yes and while your there check out the infodog link.. Click on WABR..Scroll down to Tibetan Terriers... Take a look at a huge number of TT's including ours. You will also enjoy the Tibetan Terrier Club of America website - it has all kinds of great information about the breed. Enjoy and come back some time - I update this site periodically.
