ESTABLISHED 1985
Prior to 1985, commerical river rafting was not available to the outdoor consumer in Missouri. THE RAFTING CO. put an end to that in the winter of 1985 becoming the first to introduce river rafting in the state. Opening their doors for business in the spring of 1986. TRC's expectations were overwhelmed with the demand for the sport. Operating out of an old building located on Main Street in Steelville, Mo., they soon out grew their facility. In 1988, TRC went looking for the perfect river location to open up their resort and expand their rafting business. A location was found and property was acquired on the river banks of the UPPER MERAMEC RIVER.
Located only 1 mile outside of Historic Downtown Steelville, Mo., the resort opened in the spring of 1988. TRC soon became known as THE RAFTING CO. CAMPING-RV RESORT, and became MISSOURI'S #1 RAFTING RENTAL.
THE RAFTING CO. CAMPING-RV RESORT takes pride in being a
FAMILY RESORT. A place where Mom, Dad, and the Kids can
enjoy a day, weekend, or summer vacation.
TRC offers many activities and services to choose from. Rafting, Canoeing, Kayaking, Tubing, Swimming at the Beach, A day spent at the Swimming Pool, Hiking, Volleyball, Horseshoes, Kids Playground, Sporting Events at Big Creek Pavilion, BBQ's, Steak Cookouts, and if that isn't enough, Historic Downtown Steelville, Mo. is only 1 mile from the resort where you can enjoy Antique Shopping, Novelty Shopping, The City Park, Poppy Spring Park, The Meramec Music Theater, and if that still isn't enough, Visit and Tour our area Winery. Peaceful Bend Winery has some of the finest wines you would ever want. Absolutly Outstanding!!
Once you are back at the Resort, Mom and Dad, kick back and
relax while the Kids enjoy a game of basketball, a softball
game, or just throwing a frezbee around. If the Kids bring
their bicycles, there is plunty of room to ride the roads.
