Personal Care Option
1. Who is eligible for the PCO:
a. Consumers who have full Medicaid
b. Consumers who are twenty-one or older
2. The responsibilities of consumers or their representatives, or personal care agency may perform employer related tasks are:
a. Hiring, scheduling, supervising, and firing of attendants
b. Completing, signing, and submitting of documentation to Personal Care Agency (SJCI) for payment of services
c. Notifying Personal Care Agency of date of hire and date of termination of the attendant
3. The requirements for attendants are:
a. Must pass a Criminal Background Check
b. Family members can be attendants with the exception of the consumer's spouse
4. Services may include things such as:
a. Self-administered Medication
b. Individualized Bowel and Bladder Services
c. Cognitive Assistance
d. Eating
e. Household Services
f. Hygiene/grooming
g. Meal Preparation
h. Minor Maintenance of Assistive Device(s)
i. Mobility
j. Skin Care
k. Support Services
Private Pay Home Care Services
1. Attendant
2. Homemaker
3. Nursing
4. House Cleaning
