There are many interesting sights for visitors to see. Just a kilometer from the wharf, Red Harbour Head is a natural rock formation that from the right distance bears a striking resemblance to a huge elephant. Flat Islands can be seen in the background.

Just 4 kilometers from Red Harbour are Flat Islands, an archipalego of small islands that are unique for Newfoundland. The islands have several sandy beaches that are excellent for a relaxing stroll or a summer swim in the ocean. Many residents have summer cabins on the islands.

The scenery in the area is unbelievable. Several mainland visitors that have taken the time to visit the islands have remarked upon their return that it was "the best day I have had in my life". There is no question that they enjoyed the day.
