COMPETITION UPDATE
Recently the SkatePark Of Tampa held its annual amateur contest. The top am skaters from around the world all flocked to the hot and sweaty state of Florida to see where they ranked. With this many skaters in one place, you know some awesome skating is going down. Brian Schaefer, the owner and mastermind behind the S.P.O.T., is a good example of the 'by skaters, for skaters' motto. That motto is what gains him the respect that he deserves, and its what makes his contest so legit among the skaters. Everyone there (however nervous) ends up having a lot of fun. Unlike the major media events, these were simply great skaters skating with other great skaters. Minimal vibes, and plenty of cheering your "competition" on kept the mood fun all weekend. Brian is constantly changing the course around, and every contest ends in a ridiculously huge party, complete with bands and the good people and…you guessed it, skating!
