Just Some Of The Unique Truths
Trust and Obey
God is good. Jesus is love. The Holy Spirit is strength. These three
are what make up life. We cannot have one without the other. Ask God
to be your friend and he will show you all things if you trust and
obey.
Trust is something we as a people are not use to exercising.
Giving up power over your life and trusting God; a person that you
have never met, is a thing that has to be learned. If trust needs to
be learned, then on that same token it needs to be taught and if
taught there needs to be a teacher. So God has taken care to provide
all of his children with everything they will need to trust Him.
Obedience is a form of worship. In the things that we would
obey, we honor or pay homage. Consequently, whatever we highly
esteem we show in our actions with adoration, fondness, reverential
fear, love, and an attachment to that very same thing. Obedience,
like trust, needs to be learned and exemplified. We can learn
obedience willfully or by manipulation.
The combination of trust and obedience is submission. To
submit ourselves to something is to give ourselves wholly to that
thing. It is likened to how a small child, whether willfully or
otherwise, submits themselves to their parents in whatever the
parent would have them do. To say your child is obedient is to say
the child submits to your authority over him or her. The child is
either obedient or disobedient. The child cannot be both. If the
child trusts and obeys the parent, the outcome of the child will be
what the parent had intended the child to be. You can liken it to a
ball of clay in the potter’s hands. Whatever the potter vision is
for that ball of clay; it will be.
From the beginning, God has given all of those called by his name an inward desire or burning desire, as some would say; to know
Him. We have had this desire all of our life. Some of us have
directed that desire in things that are worldly. While some of us
are left with the feeling of never becoming that great person we
feel is on the inside. This empty feeling cannot be filled with
worldly things.
What we may or may not know is people from all walks of life
have that very same empty feeling that we have. Whether super rich
or super poor, the empty feeling we have on the inside of us,
everyone that has not submitted their lives to Jesus Christ has.
The empty feeling in our heart cannot be filled with religion,
traditions, cars, houses, women, men, money, worldly success or
anything of this world. We have people with hundreds of millions of
dollars, destroying their mind, spirit and body for lack of
knowledge in Jesus Christ and the purposes of God the father; we
have poor people doing that very same thing. Both of them leaving
their eternal destination to chance; not necessarily understanding
the consequences of living a life without acknowledging
God.
Acknowledging God and accepting His Son will fill the void of
emptiness we have in our hearts. However, our lust for the things of
the world can give us a sort of ‘numbing feeling’ likened to a drug,
as to the desire (the Word) we have within us. The lust or want of
the things in the world can eventually destroy that desire or Word
we have in our hearts! God says it best; “my people are destroyed
for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6) We have God’s word inside us;
abiding in us. God says, “But this will be the covenant that I will
make with the house of Israel; after those days, saith the lord, I
will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;
and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (Jeremiah
31:33)
It must be understood that we all have that Word abiding in
us; burning within our heart. The Word inside of us pleads with us
to acknowledge God in all that we do. It (the Word) will condemn us;
in our hearts, of all things not acceptable to God our Father. The
ignorance of not knowing how to develop that Word living in us can
kill us all, slowly at first or quickly for some. It is very similar
to being thrown in jail (the world) and being left with the key (our
heart) inside the door. Unless we are aware that our freedom (the
Word) is a hand length away, we will undoubtedly remain in jail. The
freedom will be found when we search for a way out or someone
(disciple of Jesus) comes to our jail door (our ears) and tells
us, ‘your freedom has been in the very door that holds you’. Search
your heart for the things of God. It is in your heart, that the keys
to your freedom abide (lives).
God calls all who would obey him; the children of
righteousness. We are righteous in God through our obedience of his
Word.
