Toepaz Studios are well equipped with mirrors, ballet barres, Hi-Fi Stereo and speakers, heater and cooling system and a comfortable viewing area.

Toepaz Dance & Performing Arts Studio aims to ensure that their students not only enjoy their dancing and gain good technical dance skills, but also finish each year with a sense of satisfaction and achievement.

At Toepaz, we offer a wide range of casual and formal classes by fully qualified teachers who are well regarded within the dance fraternity.
These talented teachers accommodate disciplined classes in a supportive and happy atmosphere.

Dancing examinations (Southern Federation of Dance) are held once a year for Jazz/Ballet, on completion of an exam all students receive a certificate and trophy, presented at the end of year concert.

As a studio our students are welcomed to perform and compete at dance eisteddfods and take part in community dance and performing art events.

The studio also provides the opportunity for all it's students to perform at a Mid Year Showcase and the 'End of Year Concert', at Aquinas College (Mahon Theatre) we encourage all family and friends to come and enjoy the production.

TOEPAZ DANCE STYLES


Ballet
Classical Ballet is the essential part of every dancers repertoire, its elegance, balance, beauty, agility and discipline. Instruction is according to the CDTA Classical Dance Teaching Australia.
14 students maximum per class. Ages 4+

Jazz
This energetic class develops and strengthens jazz technique. Every style of jazz, from contemporary to classical to funk; improves power, stamina, and flexibility. Adult classes available. Ages 4+

Twinkle Toes & Kinder Dance
Designed for children 3 & 4 years of age, this fun intro class develops rhythm, balance, and coordination. Basic jazz and ballet fundamentals are incorporated into classes of creative movement. 14 students maximum per class.

Tap & Funk Tap
Musicality, rhythm, and precision are the 'souls' of tap; styles-from classic to today's funky movements. Adult classes available. Ages 4+

Hip Hop
This high-energy class not only improves physical fitness, but rhythm, freestyle movement, and self-confidence. Set to the latest music; be prepared for a fun-filled hour of this inspired dance video and street-styled challenge.

Street Funk: Know as Funk
The latest dance moves inspired from the modern world of dance, from Movies such as ”„Honey”¦, combined with the technique and style of Jazz. 5+

Jazz /Ballet & Hip Hop Combined Class
The beauty of ballet and the strength of jazz and Hip-Hop. This class develops control and balance through emotion and interpretation of music. Ages 3+

SFD Examination Classes
Southern Federation of Dance is a well known national syllabus
that is designed to develop students technical level in jazz, ballet and tap.
Level start at 1-9. Ages 5+

VCE Dance
Dance is the language of movement. Students get to explore dance through practical and theoretical aspects of learning in the context of performance and composition in a variety of styles.
Units 1-4




CLASS STRUCTURE

All Toepaz classes are structured in a professional manner, which may include warm up exercises, Stretching, Barre Work, Skill Development, exam exercises and Performance routines.



TOEPAZ UNIFORM

New students are welcome to come in comfortable and stretchy clothing with runners or appropriate dance shoes.
Jazz/Ballet students are to please wear the uniform colour (Dark Purple) sleeveless leotard and
matching chiffon skirt.

Funk and Hip- Hop students may wear plain black stretchy pants and a T-shirt.
Funky Toepaz T-shirt or singlets are available for purchase, only $28.00.





TOEPAZ FEE POLICIES & PROCEDURES



New students will receive ONE free lesson only.
All term fee invoices will be issued to enrolled students prior to the first two weeks of the term.

Discounted term fees are due within the first two weeks of the commencment of classes for that term; any payments made later will be at the full sessional rate.

Sessional payments are welcomed at the full price (except VCE dance classes)

Families with two or more students at the school will receive a 5% discount off term fees.

Students enrolled in more than one class will receive a 5% discount off term fees, except VCE Dance Classes.

If you have any difficulties meeting the fee criteria, please do not hesitate to contact the office for an alternative payment method to be arranged.

Payments can be made by cash, cheque or credit card. Cheques to be made payable to Toepaz Dance & Performing Arts Studio.

Payments can be made in class time, by placing correct money into a sealed envelope with the students full name, class attending and total amount enclosed and given to the class teacher.

A receipt and if change is needed it will be issued to the student the following week in class.



REFUND & MAKE-UP CLASS POLICIES & PROCEDURES



Prior to class commencement, Toepaz will refund all payments made by the student if a class is cancelled.

After class commencement NO refunds will be given to any student.

Classes missed due to illness or holiday can be made-up, by making special arrangements with the office, please note some conditions may apply.




COMMUNICATION POLICIES & PROCEDURES

It is recommended for all parents and student”¦s to please read all handouts, newsletters and notices.

Parents and friends are welcome to watch Toepaz classes, however please remain seated and quite during class.

Siblings are also welcome, but must remain seated and are not to join in with the class, unless asked to by the class teacher.

Any changes to personal details of a student should be immediately forwarded to the school, so records can be kept up to date.

Please No Food or Flavored Drink's in the Dance Studio Area, however water in a bottle is welcome.



SAFETY & INJURY POLICIES & PROCEDURES

It is the students and parents responsibility to notify the class teacher in the event of an injury during or prior to class.

Students must arrive on time to warm up and stretch, students that arrive late will not be aloud to join in class until safely warm.

It is the student's responsibility to ensure they follow safe dance practice instruction by their dance teacher at all times to avoid injury.

Students must wear appropriate dance attire to avoid injury and follow safe dance practice.

Students are to bring their own drink in a bottle for each class.
The first Aid Kit is available to any student (with consent from their Parent/Guardian on their enrolment form) to use through permission form their class teacher.

Due to government regulations Panadol or any other form or medication can NOT be given to any student at any time.

Smoking is not permitted within the Toepaz Dance Studio or surrounding the premises.

Parents should come into the studio to drop off students and collect students.

Students waiting to be collected must wait inside the Toepaz Studio.

Parents/guardians running late to pick up student/s should notify Andrea (School Principle) on 0422 599 395.




COSTUME POLICIES & PROCEDURES

There will be an End of Year Concert Costume Deposit of $60.00 made up of two separate costume deposit payments.

One of $30.00 will be included to the student”¦s Term 3 invoice and for the second one; students will receive a Costume deposit invoice of $30.00 in Term Four.

Students that have difficulties making deposit requirements can contact the office to organise alternative arrangements.

If a student fails to pay the required costume deposit, unfortunately that student will not get a costume made.

Students hiring a costume will need to pay a hire fee.

If any part of a hired costume that is damaged or lost, the student responsible must replace the missing pieces and pay for any damages.




CONCERT POLICIES & PROCEDURES

It is not compulsory for a student to be involved in any Toepaz performance, however it is preferred and so much fun!

Please notify the office immediately if a student will not be involved in a performance.

Each student involved in any performance is required to attend dress Without an authorised backstage pass by the principle, No parent, friend or other relation is permitted back stage.

Ticket order forms will be available closer to the End of Year Concert Tickets are purchased on "First in" policy and no tickets will be held or put away for any reason.

No refunds or credits on purchased tickets.




PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Filming and Photography is welcome during class time with the teachers permission.

Filming and Photography is welcomed at the Mid Year Performance ( No Flash Photography during the performance).

Strictly NO photos or filming permitted at the End of Year concert.
End of Year Concert Photos, Videos and DVD's will be available for purchase.

SFD EXAMS : Sunday 30th of October 2005 at the Toepaz Dance Stusio.

SFD EXAM UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS: Hair must be slick back into a bun or brade/bun, correct purple uniform and shoes must be worn.

Saturday the 30th July 7:00pm - 8:30pm at the Templestowe Memorial Hall
(Rehearsal 6:00pm - 7:00pm at the Templestowe Memorial Hall in required full costume, hair and make-up)


End of Year Concert Rehearsal

Monday 21st of November 2005 4:00pm to 9:00pm Manhon Theatre, Aquinas College Ringwood.

(Please note: Students will rehearse and be expected to stay for their delegated time within the time frame above)



End of Year Concert

The Wizard Of Oz:Monday 28th November 2005 at 7:00pm at the Manhon Theatre, Aquinas College Ringwood.


TOEPAZ CHRISTMAS & END OF YEAR CELEBRATION PERFORMANCE

SATURDAY the 17th of December 2005, 12:30pm at the Toepaz Dance Studio. All students welcome to participate, perform and party!
