About the Refuge Clinic:
The mission of the Refuge Clinic is to restore health and value to the community through the unconditional love of Christ. We approach this through relational health care by loving and serving others where they are in the midst of their most basic needs. We offer primary medical and dental care to uninsured patients who meet Federal poverty guidelines and live in either Jessamine County or the 1st Council District of Lexington. All of our services are provided by volunteer physicians, dentists, nurses, and other professionals at no cost to our patients. The Refuge Clinic currently operates two locations: a day clinic on Corral St. in Lexington, KY and an evening clinic at the Jessamine County Health Department in Nicholasville, KY.
Overview of Refuge:
In a response to love and serve the community in a practical way, Southland Christian Church birthed a vision to fund medical and dental clinics to aid the uninsured in Jessamine and Fayette Counties. It was a response to the tremendous need for primary and dental care for the under-served within the community.
Refuge Ministries, a separate non-profit organization, was created to accomplish this task through the Refuge Clinic. The Refuge Clinic operates as an expression of Christ and seeks to connect the hurting to health. We recognize that every life has infinite value and worth and aims to make true health obtainable physically, spiritually, and mentally for those we serve.
Our mission is to restore health and value to the community through the unconditional love of Christ. We approach this through relational health care by loving and serving others where they are; in the midst of their most basic needs. We believe that restoration of health and well-being should be available to all, and we commit our efforts to accomplish this goal.

Excerpt from a letter sent by a patient-
"Thank you Refuge Clinic. I am 59 years old and have been in the work force for 40 years. I was out of work for a year and a half until finally getting hired in retail for low wages. It is all I can do to afford rent, utilities, groceries, and basic living needs. Thanks to you, I can receive medical care. It means more to me that I can put into words and I'm sure it means as much to the countless others who are able to recieve medical care at your clinic."
