Guardian Observer Auto Trader (GOAT)

Ook : Milieudefensie en "Auto Trader" (NL).

Cars are destroying the world.

So what does the high-n-mighty "Guardian" do?

1) It attacks Mr Bush for refusing to sign the KyoTo Treaty, as if that would solve all our ills.

2) It buys the "Auto Trader Group" (TMG - check it out) for over a billion £. That's more than the (British) "Telegraph" group, recently changing inky hands for just £667 million.

Clearly if you own a mag which advertises cars, you have a vested interest in having as many cars around as possible. Especially 4 x 4, which have the best PROFIT margins.

Needless to say, the "Guardian" likes to keep quiet about its ownership, the same as it keeps quiet about the Manchester Evening News (MEN)(it's raining men?).

Apparently the "High-n-Mighty" justifies this by claiming it puts the Guardian on a firm basis. (It actually loses about £6 million a year). On that basis, why not sell pornography or tobacco? Why not set up a mag for those concerned with the 3d world called "Small Arms Trader"?
