T I M E W E L L, I L L I N O I S
T I M E W E L L (formally Mounds Station) is but a small farming community in Brown County, population approx 150, located in the heart of Illinois, between the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers.
Established around 1858 by the Wabash Railroad as Mounds Station, the name was changed to TIMEWELL approximately 1908. Seems the business men of the time were having considerable trouble with freight, there being another town in southern Illinois with the name of Mounds.
Hence, TIMEWELL was officially born.
Situated on highway US 24, about 30 miles East of Quincy, Illinois and 70 miles West of Springfield, Illinois; TIMEWELL enjoys the best of both worlds, not too close yet not too far away.
Free from the hassle and turmoil of the big cities, TIMEWELL is but a short drive from Employment, Shopping, Recreation, Camping, Entertainment and home of the trophy buck! Summer is here, so stop by and smell the flowers......
TIMEWELL is the home of:
TIMEWELL TILE
YODER LAWN FURNITURE
JENSEN WOODS YOUTH CAMP
and the annual LIONS TOY TRACTOR SHOW!
TIMEWELL is also "just down the road" from Mt Sterling, the birthplace and home of DOT FOODS.
Summer is here, Fall & Winter can not be far behind! We have finally beat the heat, so let us enjoy the remainder of the summer!
Make plans & take the time to enjoy the outdoors!
Stop and smell the roses, who knows about tomorrow!
