This Can't Be Normal
I tried so many ways to make you notice me. I made the green of my eyes glow in deceit trying so hard to be better than anyone you'd ever meet. I changed my hair to the color of ebony and prayed you could find room in your world for me. I gave you space beacuse I thought thats what you needed, or maybe I backed away beacuse I knew I was being defeated. I dropped two dress sizes in a pathetic attempt to make you proud but you still didn't see me amongst that imaginary crowd. I wanted you to look everywhere for love and I would be the only one you'd see. Well, you finally found that love, it just wasnt with me. You see I've got a love two now, one not quiet like another,it is the simplest love one can find, between a child and it's mother.
