* MUSIC THERAPY *
Direct Service - one-on-one services provided at Therapy Connections: Applications/techniques are implemented to address assessed motor skills, social functioning, communication abilities, and cognitive skills through musical responses using music improvisation, receptive music listening, song writing, lyric discussion, music and imagery, music performance, and learning through music. A screening or assessment must first be conducted to identify/determine the possible efficacy of individual music therapy services.
Consultation – school-based: Services are designed to support the overall programming for the classroom such as early childhood or self-contained special education classrooms. Each student’s IEP can state that a music therapist will be serving as a consultant to the classroom as a whole. Student IEPs can be reviewed to extract a list of skills to address and/or the teacher can provide a list of classroom objectives to be a part of the group program designed by the therapist. Music Therapy group sessions are provided weekly, biweekly or monthly in order to monitor progress and to demonstrate and familiarize the teacher with session materials so the music therapy techniques can be repeated throughout the week.
• School-based direct and consult to student related services also available (related service when a music therapy eligibility assessment demonstrates that music therapy provides significant motivation and/or assistance necessary for the student to benefit from his/her Individualized Education Plan) – please inquire for more information.

* ABA/AVB *
Direct Service - one-on-one services provided at Therapy Connections: Instruction implementing intensive teaching trials and incidental/natural environment teaching to address language, learning and behavioral needs. The first 5-10 sessions are used to assess skills after which an individualized treatment plan with specific goals and objectives will be formulated. Data will be collected every session and will be used for on-going evaluation purposes. Services are provided by a BCBA and/or ABA Instructional Specialists who are directly supervised by the BCBA.
Home Program Consultation – home-based: Develop and guide ABA/AVB home programs based on a full assessment specifying language, learning and behavior objectives. Consultation includes observations of in-home and school programs, parent training, programming recommendations and set-up, home tutor training (how to implement the treatment plan, take data and set up/maintain materials), and team meetings (conducted for on-going training and program review every 2-4 weeks in 3-6 hour increments).
Public/Private School Consultation – School-based: Provide ongoing support services to classroom teachers and staff for instructional and behavior/classroom management by delivering in-classroom training, modeling and monitoring of IEP goals/objectives based on the principles of ABA. Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) to develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and ABLLS and/or VB-MAPP assessments to develop accurate, measurable IEP objectives as well as in-service trainings are also available.
BACB SUPERVISION - Supervision hours include: on-site observation and/or video review/feedback, phone conferencing, review/discussion of data collection and analysis, assistance and feedback related to program development and research review and discussion. Supervision is available for those who require supervision toward certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as well as for on-going BCaBA supervision (visit www.bacb.com for requirements).
**Therapy Connections uses tools such as The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills-Revised (ABLLS-R), (Partington, 2006) and the The Verbal Behavior Milestone Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), (Sundberg, 2008) to identify specific language barriers, objectives and to provide a curriculum and skills tracking system.**
