The Poor Folks Coalition
Mission Statement:
This is a Coaliton for change. We are a group of people looking to try and change our city and state government to better out communityand and all of its citizens.
About Us:
The Poor Folks Coalition is a group of marginalized and homeless people that have come together to try to trouble shoot problemsin our City and State Governments. Our top priority is the dismantlement of our Social Services network. In 2005 we had formed a list of those City Council members that we supported andwent door to door with fliers stating our political support. Two of our supported City Council canidates got elected into office. This past year in 2006 the members of the coalition got together and decided who they wanted to support for the state elections. Again members that volunteered there time went our to show their support by passing our fliers of those they were in support of. They almost got it straight down the line with only 2 spots not being filled by those they supported.We are continuing our cause in politics as the next electiion season for cit council is arriving. Please keep posted as to our on going this year as we start up another round of our political support and out pouring of fliers.
