The Learning Zone
The Learning Zone is a Christian Home School Co-op. We will abide by Christian values and all classes will be taught in accordance with these Christian values and beliefs.
Our mission is
*to organize classes which supplement students' home curriculum and allow for group participation.
*to provide Christian fellowship for home schooled students.
*to assist parents in their efforts to home educate.
*to provide a support network and fellowship for home school parents.
Our fall semester will be from September 12, 2005 - December 12, 2005. We meet on Mondays from 9-12:30 at Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, KY. We will not have classes on October 10 or November 21.
This semester we are offering a set of classes for the 5 - 10 year olds:
Art History with Barry Williams
Spanish with Eunice Arevalo
The middle schoolers will have 1 block class - probably a science lab with writing taught by Laura Burkhart.
Both elementary and middle schoolers will share a PE class taught by Tina Nahid.
We are also excited to have an official preschool option with curriculum taught by Amy Bullen for parents wanting to bring their preschooolers weekly.
The students will bring their own lunch and have time for fellowship then. The cost is $60/semester for one child and $45/semester for each additional child in your family. Preschool is a flat $60 fee per child per semester due to the amount of consumable materials needed for that age group.
We are very excited about bringing this opportunity to our local home school families. We hope that it will be a blessing and encouragement for them. Please feel free to contact either director with any questions.
