Tuscany Rental: The Lance Castle
The Lance Castle is a pretty village house built of mellow stone and set in the tiny hilltop village of Lanciole and formed from part of a huge stone building dating back to the 1200's - and which a Ghibelline castle. The Ghibellines who sided with the holy roman Emperor fought aginst the Guelphs who supported the Pope over the right to rule the nothern part of Italy. The Village lies in the hills to the north of Pescia and Montecatini - a very picturesque area ideal for touring or relaxing in delightful surroundings. The property itself is full character with a cosy cottage feel where you will feel really "at home". The Castle sits at the edge of the little village and is surrounded by miles of woodlandwhere you can enjoy long walks and the whole area is a patchwork of medioeval hilltop villages which are all worth a visit. Lanciole, though tiny, has a bar/pizzeria which also sells a few basic foodstuffs whilst in ancient times the village was known to have produced "lancia" or spears and other arms. The area makes a good base for touring being within easy driving distance of many famous places including Lucca, Pisa and Florence. Description of Vacation Rental Property The Fairy property is reached up stone steps leading to a delightful terrace which has autstanding views to the surrounding woodland. The entrance from the terrace leads into a picturesque dining/kitchen with most attractive Tuscan fireplace, beamed ceiling and antique terracotta floor (gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, stone sink). Door from the kitchen lead in to a 1800 bed room which has a window looking to the church. Small cloakroom with a wc and basin also houses washing machine. Open tread stairs from the kitchen lead to a first floor sitting room with sofa, satellite TV and VCR. Further double bedroom. Family bathroom has whirlpool bath with shoer fitting, basin, bidet and wc and beautiful views. The upstairs floors are of wood and there are beautiful beamed ceilings throughout. Furnishings throughout are tastefully rustic with additional antique pieces and many personal touche and pictures to add to the home from home feel. Central heating and a mobile phone and cot are available on request. Outside: The Castle villa is the only property in the village having a lovely terraced grassy garden and some trees. In the Garden you can find too a pool 7,5x4 metres, a barbeque a gazebo garden furniture. This is a delightful property which I feel would be ideal for a honeymoon in a romantic setting. The Elf property with stone floor, ancient features has a big terrace with two beautiful historical "loggia" , the entrance in front of the church in an original sitting-room with a ceramic stove, satellite Tv, a sofa. A big country-modern kitchen with dish-machine and a little bathroom with old tub-foot and upstair a double bedroom. Sleeps 2/3 maximum, private barbeque, garden furniture.
Both property exit on the garden.
Is possible to rent both together.
Services Offered Final cleaning, bed bath and kitchen linens, a welcome pack (oil, sugar, salt, milk, pasta.....), and the owner will greet you at your arrival a bowl of fruit, a red Chianti wine bottle, and the necessary to your first breakfast at the Fairies Tale Castle included in the price.
