This is the "One Eyed Jack's" logo, created in 1997, and is the adaptation to the Famous sketch of Jack that inspired the First "JACK ARMSTRONG TATTOO CONVENTION" in Houston, Texas in 1994, when Patti Jo, an artist, walked into Chuck's Custom Tattoos in Galveston, Texas, to ask if they needed any mural work done. When she told the owner, Chuck, what she could do, he challenged her to draw a portrait of...you guessed it...Jack Armstrong, who was doing a guest artist spot at the shop at the time. She accepted his challenge, grabbed her drawing tablet, sat on the couch with Jack and in 20 minutes, had finished this sketch. This led into a mural job for Patti Jo, and much to her surprize, the beginning of her new career as a tattoo artist. And Jack and Chuck decided they should hold a tattoo convention in Jack's honor and use the sketch on all the posters, advertizement, hat, shits, etc.
The eye patch was added to the drawing in 1997, as at that time, Jack had started wearing an eye patch over his good eye, in an effort to train his weak eye to become stronger. It was then that Jack came up with the idea of the name for the new shop..."ONE EYED JACK'S TATTOOS"
And.....now....YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY!
