Freedom from "Spiritual Abuse" is available to all. You don't have to stay under it. Part of the abuse is the lie that you must stay, that you must believe all you are told, that you must obey leadership at all costs.
Leaders are only ordinary men or women, we are to follow them as they follow Christ. Not follow them mearly because they have a name as a leader. 1Thessalonians 5:21 "test and prove all things[until you can recognize] what is good; [to that] hold fast. Abstain from evil[shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be." (Amplified version)
When you are hearing lies from the pulpit. When you are being told to be quiet and not to ask questions, providing you are doing so in an orderly manner. Whenever you find you are oppressed or cornered by lies. Get your eyes focused on God not on men and you will see wether they are of him or not. "Test the Spirits." 1Kings 18:21 "Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you halt and limp between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him! But if Baal, then follow him." You cannot be of two minds nor can you worship God and mamon.
