ACCIDENT: US truck vs French car Did you know? Reveille is not the only word the American Army would put to use.When the founding fathers of this nation needed help it came only
from France. Ben Franklin stayed in Paris to charm the King & ladies of the court. He got millions to send back to our impoverished Army.
Also Uniforms, Troops, Arms, & training. So if a few French words pop-up Don't be surprised. Don't forget the Navy(we did not have one) & France did great damage to the foe of that time.Later the officers school at west-point required French in class so as to read the books & manuals. Look at the cadets parade uniform today we did not invent it, & it is sharp. I like the big sgt. stripes.

Do you remember that stout guy who was on French restriction? He got
drunk & was fighting the Gendarmes in Robert Espagne.
Some guys broke into the TV shop (in BLD) & they had to bring chow to them in Jail.
A light color black capt signal corp. Him & his wife were real nice, she had class.
another stout guy who seemed drunk all the time from oklahoma: he would listen to kitty Wells & cry out loud.
The fight in the mess hall on xmass eve. I may be called a coward but because I had been in a drunken fight a few hrs. before I took my army tin plate & went outdoors & finished eating.
Sad Things :
A SFC. with wife & kids. He got killed by striking a tree with his
car.
The same happened to a USO gal.

REMEMBER...
The guy on permanent restriction was Grandstaff. He was short and stocky.It took about 8 MP's to subdue him.I also recall Bozer. He was short and looked bald. Tyree was ok. I missed the fight with the MP's. Me and Holcomb ate in the snack bar and when we got back, it was all over.
