LE ROZELIER AMMO DEPOT

Located at Fort Le Rozelier ( Verdun area), this depot was a sub-station of the Trois-Fontaines Depot.

Art FELL Comments: I was at Rozelier 1961-63 or thereabouts. This was before - during - and after the Berlin Buildup. Before it was a nice sleepy sub-depot - they things heated up as 3 ordanance companies moved as we stacked ammo. Trains were coming into the depot daily. I left about April 1963. Best, Art Fell

Arnold Lauer Comments: I was stationed at Rozelier from March 1961 untill August of 1962. I was part
of the security group from the 61st MP company. I enjoyed my time there, but the depot was cut off from the rest of the Verdun area. Really out in the woods.

Don Boice Comments: Glad to see that I was not alone at Rozelier. I was there in 62. Lived in the big barn. Mess hall at the top of the hill. This was definitely not one of the highlights of my tour. I set a prop charge can down on Lynn's toe and broke it. Got caught by a 2LT standing on the forks while they were extended to max height. He asked what I was doing up there and I answered that I was trying to get down. The TF tour was not that bad. I met a lot of interesting folks while there.
