One Bedroom apartment (Sleeps 4/5) at St Gilgen, within 30 minutes of Salzburg, overlooking Lake Wolfgang and the Schafburg mountain, at the foot of the Zwolferhorn mountain.

Within 20 minutes of historic and beautiful Salzburg by bus or hire-car, close to the spa town of Bad Ischl, two hour drive to Vienna and situated in the Salzkammergut, this is a beautiful part of the world, suitable for a romantic long week-end, activity break or family holiday at any time of the year.
From May to September all watersports on the lake together with tennis, indoor pool with slides into the lake, cycling, hiking, classical outdoor music concerts (St Gilgen is the birthplace of Mozarts mother after all!), fishing, nearby beautiful Golf course at Mondsee, cable car to the top of the Zwolferhorn mountain, steam train to the top of the Schafberg mountain, and horse-riding in the woods around lake Wolfgang.
Great food ranging from satisfying and tasty Austrian food to Italian and Chinese restaurants.
A favourite location for Nordic walking and also paragliding from the summit of the Zwolferhorn. Bavaria and Munich are also within an hour with more beautiful mountains, lakes, salt mines and towns to explore in Germany.
March/April and October /November still beautiful weather, less visitors and the opportunity to enjoy the mountains, lake and local hospitality with less people around!
December to March-Starts with the Christmas markets in all the lakeside villages as well as Salzburg, then ski-ing/snowboarding, cross-country ski-ing, sledging, horse drawn sleighs, hot spicy gluvein with goulash and dumplings, and refreshing Weisenbier with sausages and mustard followed by warm strudel and cream.
The spacious apartment has a large double bed in the main bedroom with two double sofa-beds in the lounge and is equipped with a further ˜z-bed, inflatable bed and travel cot. The sofa-beds in the lounge can make up to a large double if required
Modern fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer and electric cooker-all essentials in place on your arrival and excellent local supermarkets within walking distance
flat screen TV with dvd player in lounge and radio/cd player-collection of dvds, cds and books to save you bringing your own! Second TV with dvd player in bedroom.
Modern spacious bathroom with large bath and powerful over-bath shower - separate WC.
Two adults bicycles available with the flat, further can be hired locally.
Excellent washing machine and drier within the flat, also iron, ironing board and hair-drier all provided
Flat equipped with all bed-linen, towels, sun chairs and beds for lakeside sunbathing,
Balcony with table and seating for four with great views over Lake Wolfgang and the Schafburg mountain
Available throughout the year depending on season-shorter or longer breaks available. £150-£200 per week depending on time of year
Ryanair run several flights a day from London Stansted to Salzburg throughout the year (Flight time 1 ½ hrs) Easyjet fly from Gatwick.
Flybe run in the winter months from Exeter. Other airlines serving the area seasonally from airports throughout the UK are Thompsonfly (including Bournemouth in winter months) KLM, British airways and Austrian airlines to Salzburg, Linz, Graz,Vienna,Klagenfurt and Munich.
Driving time is 10 hours from Calais or consider the eurostar to paris-and further train travel to Vienna then Salzburg. Excellent bus services locally but a hire car is recommended for ease of travel and shopping-as the flat is at the top of a hill!
