Documents on file indicate that this building is supposed to provide resident control and diversity. This building has neither. Amenities are being diminshed without approval of the majority of tenants and the only tenants allowed to attend trustee meetings are all of the same race, sex, and socio economic group.
Some Objectives
Adequate security
Parking included with rent at no extra charge (one space per apartment)
Prompt Repairs
Compliance with Tenants Rights including Tenants Quiet Enjoyment
Resident Control
Trust meetings open to all adult tenants
Trust Meetings to take place at night so people who work for living and full time students can participate
Tenant Trustees voted on by all adult tenant
Any issue involving diminshment of amenities or any other change negative to present tenants to be voted on by all adult tenants and no diminshment without agreement by majority of tenants who vote on issue
Better screening so only the very best live and work in this complex
Increase Diversity so the building reflects the population of the region
Increase the number of market units
As tenants move out allow some of the affordable units to be available to middle income tenants so this group is not left out
Allow students to occupy affordable units
Note: This group is not to be confused with the group that refers to itself as the 808-812 Memorial Drive Tenants Association. The Tenants Organization and the groupd which refers to itself as the Tenants Association are two different groups.
