Comprehending when it’s so hard
to cope in the neighborhood
Stereotypes
Are very old types
Of views that have always hindered the state of this nation
And it all boils UP to one big misinterpretation
Misevaluate one’s life, think they had it as good as you
Discount one’s right to be silent with you
Mis-worded tongues lead to being mislead
Friendships unformed because personality covers misread
Miscalculation of stats that say one’s more likely to commit a crime
Misquoted statement when saying “I’m doing just fine”
Missed lives all because someone was offended
Misapprehension can lead to a subject being mis-apprehended
Panic. Attacks. Anxiety. Quarrels.
Due to the misapplication of values and morals
Misguided intentions in the quest to just live
Public school lynchings of the futures of kids
How can we call it a misunderstanding
When we take such a small risk understanding
These misconceptions and misinterpretations
Missed confessions and missed relations
Lost blessings and lost delectations
Needless questions and needless aberrations
Negative gestures and needless altercations
All due to misconstrued information
As life becomes clearer and civility awakens
We’ll realize that we’ve all just been sadly mistaken
After we’ve self-evaluated and self-reflected
We can all make amends and stand proudly corrected
