{Sugar Cookies}
1-1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
1 cup butter(soft)
1 egg
1-1/2tea vanilla
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tea baking soda
1 tea Cream of Tartar
Mix together,Cover and Ref. atleast
2 hours
pre-heat oven 375'
Roll out thin, sprinkle with sugar.
Bake 7 to 8 min.
{Ranger Cookies}
(The Best)
½ cup Crisco
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
½ teas. Vanilla
1 cup sifted flour
1 teas. B.P.
½ teas. Soda
½ teas. Salt
1cup corn flakes
½ cup oatmeal
½ cup coconut
½ cup chopped nuts
Cream Crisco and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, beat well
Sift flour, B.P., soda and salt
Add remaining ingredients. Mix until moistened
Drop by teas. on greased cookie sheet
Bake at (375’) 12-15 min.
2 ½ dozen
{Molasses Cookies}
(The hard ones)
1 ½ cup sugar
1 ½ cup dark syrup
1 cup butter
1 teas. ginger
1 teas. nutmeg
1 teas. Cinnamon
2 Table. sour milk
2 teas. soda
3 cups nuts
Flour
Heat to boiling point syrup sugar add butter then add ginger, nutmeg, Cinnamon, sour milk with soda dissolved in it. Add nuts and enough flour and put in ice box overnight
Next day slice and bake.
Bake at (400’)
{Peanut Butter Cookies}
½ cup butter soft
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 ¼ cup flour
¾ tea. soda
½ tea. baking powder
¼ tea. salt
Mix all above (Ref 1 Hour)
Roll into small Balls
Press down with a fork
Criss-Cross dipped
in sugar
Bake at (350’)
Added treat
Place one Hershey Kiss on top after they come out of the oven.
{Toll House Cookies} (Orig.)
2 ½ cups flour
1 teas. Baking Soda
1 teas. salt
set aside
Combine:
1 cup soft butter or shortening
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup Brown sugar
1 teas. Vanilla
½ teas. water
Beat till creamy
Beat in 2 eggs
Add flour mixture
Mix well
Stir in Choc. Chips
May add chopped nuts or rice crispies
{Neiman-Marcus Cookie}
2 cups butter
4 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
2 cups sugar
5 cups blended oatmeal**
24 oz. chocolate chips
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
2 tsp. vanilla
Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 112 cookies.
** measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder.
{Sand Tarts}
1 cup butter
5 Table. powered sugar
2 cup flour
2 teas. vanilla
1 ½ cups chopped nuts
Cream butter and sugar
Work flour, vanilla, and nuts into creamed mixture
Form into small balls or crescents
Bake on ungreased sheet
Roll tarts in powered sugar while warm.
350’ for 30 min.
{Meringue Cookies}
2 egg white
Pinch of salt
½ teas. cream of tartar
¾ cup sugar
Mix egg white, salt, cream of tartar until stiff
Add sugar, chips
Drop on cookies sheet covered with wax paper
Pre heat oven to 375’ for 15 min.
Turn off and put cookies in
Leave in over night.
