Baby World

Enter our home of Baby World. My husband and I are expecting our first child in late June 2000. Being only 5 months has turned our home into a baby store. We don't have much to spend on expensive baby things, so here are some tips to save money:

1. Ask around family and friends if they have fairly new items that you could borrow or buy.
2. Make sure you look everywhere before deciding on one particular thing. A couple weeks later that very expensive item could be $20 to even $30 cheaper than before.
3. While being on maternity leave, throwing things together (if you're crafty) helps on those expensive curtains or other homemade items.
4. When someone asks what to get for the baby, don't be shy. Tell them exactly what your newborn needs, and suggest what you know is cheaper. The less money they spend on an item, the more they are likely to buy.
5. Last but not least, it's never too soon to stock up on diapers!!

Since I am new to this Baby World, I have found that these tips REALLY do help. So for the next 9 months, take care of yourself and eat. At my fourth month appointment, I was told I lost a few pounds. That really worried me, and I knew I hadn't been eating enough. I watch what I eat, but I make sure it's for two now. Read everything and anything. Always take in what advice ANYONE gives. Good luck with YOUR new baby, and have fun turning your home into a Baby World.
