Tans To Go "AirBrush Tanning" in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is a client-centered airbrush tanning service. We offer quick, effective, affordable and SAFE tanning in the comfort of your home. We realize that you want to look good without the risks associated with traditional tanning methods. Just call & set up your time, and we will come to your home and tan you -- we are usually in & out in about 20 minutes.
HOW DOES AIRBRUSH TANNING WORK?
Our product contains an FDA-approved cosmetic ingredient called Dihydroxyacetone (or DHA). DHA works by reacting with the keratin protein in the top [or “dead”] layer of your skin. The DHA in our sunless solution is derived from a vegetable source (such as sugar beets and/or sugar cane). The DHA is airbrushed onto your skin and reacts with the proteins to create a tan that begins to appear within a few hours and is complete after about eight hours. The airbrush spray unit disperses an even mist over the body. There are two formulas: clear and dark. The dark solution contains a Walnut and Carmel extract combination that provides an immediate natural bronze tan. This instant coloring agent washes off with a shower leaving the actual tan that has been created by the DHA. The dark is best for those who want to be tan without waiting the four hours.
WHAT KIND OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT?
The darker you tan naturally, the darker you will tan with Tans To Go sunless tanning system. The reaction looks natural, as if from the sun. To get a good initial base tan, we recommend two consecutive sessions, 24 hours apart.
WHY SHOULD I CHANGE TO SUNLESS TANNING?
Although sunning and lying in a tanning bed can be relaxing, they cause irreparable damage to the skin. It is proven that tanning in the sun or in tanning beds can lead to premature aging (wrinkles & leathery looking skin) and cause skin cancer. The most dangerous type of skin cancer, melanoma, is more common in women than in men and can strike at any age. You may think you look good now, but…a traditional tan is not a sign of health, it is a sign that the skin has been damaged by ultraviolet radiation. When cells are damaged by the sun, melanin rushes to the surface to provide protection against the next onslaught. As you slowly build up a 'protective' tan, your skin is darkening in response to damage on top of damage. IS AIRBRUSH TANNING RECOMMENDED FOR PREGNANT WOMEN OR NURSING MOTHERS? Although there is no evidence that any of the ingredients in our tanning solution would cause a problem, we elect not to take any chances. Therefore, we do not airbrush pregnant women or nursing mothers.
WHAT DO I WEAR FOR MY AIRBRUSH TANNING SESSION?
If you are a woman, you may wear lingerie, a bathing suit or opt for no tan lines at all; we are professionals. If you are a man, please understand that although we are professionals, we are professional women and therefore require that men wear something.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TANNING SESSION?
For the maximum result:
Shower or bathe and EXFOLIATE before your session.
MAKE SURE your skin is free of perfumes, lotions, oils, deodorants or any product on the skin that would create a barrier. Your skin MUST be completely clean & dry.
Shaving should also be done prior to tanning (not after).
Remove all jewelry.
To maintain your tan, moisturize the following day and then frequently to prolong your tan.
HOW LONG WILL MY TAN LAST?
Your tan can last anywhere from about 4 days to two weeks, depending upon how you care for your skin. If you moisturize and take care of your skin, your tan will last longer. If you wear your skin hard, take long hot baths or showers, wear clothes that chafe, or do anything to encourage the skin to shed, your tan will not last as long. You can extend the life of your tan by nearly double by using a quality moisturizer at least once daily.
TIPS
Wear loose fitting clothing and shoes, and limit physical activity for several hours following your session. Perspiration may adversely affect the results of the tan.
DHA reacts with wool, nylon, and silk. You should not wear these fabrics during or after your tanning session.
Wait at least 8 hours after application before showering. The longer, the better.
