IMAGES OF SCOTLAND / HIGHLAND LANDSCAPE.
Welcome to Scotland and the Island of Skye and Landscape photography.
My name is James Brown and I have spent the last few years on The ISLE of SKYE capturing the ever changing color of its scenery . The sun and sea play intricate tricks on the hills and water surrounding the island which is passed by the Gulf Stream on its doorstep. As such, the island is a must for photographers, tourist, and hill walkers alike.
The weather also plays its part in creating an atmosphere of a bleak and forbidding place in the deep winter, remote from the world of more sunnier climes, but that in itself is challenging.
The rugged Cuillin hills and jagged edged volcanic mountains, dominate the skyline to the north and west of the island, while in the more temperate south of the island, Sleat, is what 's known as the garden of Skye.
The land has always remained the same through time. Weathered, Wild, and unspoilt by an increasingly land devouring, modern world, yet remains unchanged by the times.
This is my view of part of Scotland that perhaps you may never have the opportunity to see.
Spectacular sunrises, sunsets, and single malt Whisky, all play a natural part in the colors and mood of Skye, reflected on its Red and Black Cuillin Hill ranges that bi-sects the island.
These have always been a climbers true place of learning for their skills.
My work , in the majority, concentrates more on the feel of the work, rather than the image itself; in varying degrees of interpretation. I like to think that ' beauty (in any shape or form) is in the eye of the beholder.....'
If you find in my gallery, something that pleases you, then please leave a message in the guest book. Copies of images are available if required hand produced and framed.
