WINTER 1999-2000 CALENDAR
Editor Mike Tirpak timexpw@hotmail.com, Coeditor David Vollmer davidpv@mytalk.com
We invite all Catholics in their 20's and 30's, married, single and divorced, to join us as we bring in, play in, and PRAY IN the millenium! Please see below:
7 p.m. (EACH NIGHT) TUESDAY, NOV. 30 - WEDNESDAY, DEC. 8
ST. AGNES ADVENT NOVENA
St. Agnes Church, 245 W. Amos, Springfield, IL
Start out Advent right by attending an Advent Novena at St. Agnes Church. Each night begins with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 7 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 7:30 and confessions each night after the service. The final evening, Dec. 8, will end with Mass for the feast day of the Immaculate Conception.
6 p.m. SUNDAY, DEC. 12 - CHRISTMAS CAROLING
Meeting at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception After 5 P.M. Mass
A YAM tradition! Meet us at the 5 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral, then carpool out to several area nursing homes to brighten up the residents’ evening with caroling. Afterwards, we’ll probably meet at one of our west-end restaurants for a late supper. Let’s all get into the proper spirit for this one!
7 p.m. SATURDAY, JAN. 8 - ANNUAL EPIPHANY PARTY/BAD GIFT EXCHANGE
Fallingbrook Clubhouse - 39 Trailridge
For More Information Call Darius Depa 787-8108
This is an even more hallowed YAM tradition, with its potluck, State of the YAM Address, Bad Gift Exchange, and plenty of fun and dancing. We’d like to see as many new and old faces as possible! Please bring a potluck dish to share and a white elephant for the Gift Exchange (see how creative you can get--past bad gifts have included a rubber squeak hammer, a 1971 issue of Boy’s Life and a pre-Vatican II theological journal).
HOW TO GET TO THE CLUBHOUSE: Clubhouse is in the Fallingbrook Estates, Springfield, IL. Going west on Washington Street, cross Veterans' Parkway and take the first left (south); Fallingbrook sign will be at that intersection. Trailridge runs southward and eventually in a wide circle back to itself. Clubhouse is #39, on the right-hand (west) branch of the circle. The only visitor parking permitted in Fallingbrook is in the occasional lots along the streets.re is not parking along streets. Please use parentrance to Fallingbrook is the first left west of Veterans' Parkway
7 p.m. MONDAY, JAN. 10 - YAM ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
19 Redwood Lane, Springfield (See Map)
For More Information Call Darius Depa 787-8108
We’ve already planned into Lent, so let’s take another step and further flesh out the millenial year. Everybody’s presence and suggestions are welcome--you don’t have to be a board member to come!
HOW TO GET TO DARIUS': Darius lives at #19 Redwood in the Fallingbrook Estates, Springfield, IL. Going west on Washington Street, cross Veterans' Parkway and take the first left (south); Fallingbrook sign will be at that intersection. Almost immediately you will come to the intersection with Redwood. Turn left (west) and go down street to park in visitors' lot along street. Walk back past the crossroad to the east arm of Redwood; Darius' condo is the third driveway on left-hand side and his house number is clearly marked.
