Cross Country Skiing at the Swamper Dome

The trail is located behind the Louisville Community center and arena. The Arena (Swamper Dome) is located at the Intersection of St. Lawrence County Rt 36 & 39. There is a sign in/out sheet next too the concession stand in the Arena to help us keep track of skiers. Its also a good spot to warm up or to grab a snack.

The trail is approx 3 miles in length running from behind the Arena through the woods skirting a 90 acre meadow and back into the woods down along the Grasse River and back to the arena. The trail was first ruff cut by the County Youth Corp, with the arena staff putting the finishing touches on it. The Ski trail was made possible thanks to Ronnie and Linda Hurlbut, Steve and Mary Lou McKnight and Tammy Compo who gave us permission to use their lands to run it across.

The snow is here and the Trail is open for the 2005 season. Come on out and give it a go. Mother nature has finally blessed us with the white stuff. But dress warm she has also delivered the some mighty cool weather. So after your trek stop at the Concession Stand and get a Hot Chocolate or a Cappuccino. Please remember to sign in and out at the Consession Stand when ever you use the Trail.
