There is a lot of modern interest in "Native plant medicines" both from big drug companies and from people who want simple treatments, inexpensive, and without the harmful side-effects that are sometimes manifested in chemical or synthesized medicines.
Most women who are going to buy a cosmetic cream rely on advertisements, friend's suggestions or price range, while those more curious read the label. What we actually see on the label is so confusing. Nobody knows or understands chemical names, and we question why it is necessary to put all this stuff into the cream and use it on our faces. Historically, cosmetic creams were made of just a few ingredients: olive oil, water, beeswax and rose petals were good enough to satisfy Roman beauties in ancient Rome 2000 years ago.
Most cosmetic creams found on the market contain fats, synthetic emulsifiers, preservatives and synthetic fragrances that cannot be utilized by human cells because they are foreign to our body. That kind of cream can form an occlusive barrier protecting the body from cold or heat but it does not nourish the cells. Some components may even be harmful.
My creams contain ingredients naturally occurring in nature compatible with skin metabolism. Almost 100% are of plant origin compiled in a beautiful fragrant, natural cream made to nourish and enhance the skin. Due to absence of harmful to skin chemicals that well preserve texture of creams, stability of Helena’s Luxurious Face/Body Crème is generally lower than that of the products found on most of shelves of beauty salons and stores. Depending on the oil contents and essential oils, it varies from 1 to at least 3 years. After a prolonged storage there is a slight phase separation in some cases. To ensure Helena’s freshness I label each jar with the production date. These creams don't loose their therapeutic properties. Also, Helena’s shows slight variations from one batch to another because of the nature of their ingredients - natural products are variable, depending on the soil the plants grow and the methods of purification, unlike well defined but artificially produced components of most common creams. Moisturizers: My Crème’s are a combination of botanical ingredients producing non-greasy, well-absorbed deep moisturizers that is fabulous nourishment on the body as well. No Chemicals, Preservatives, Lanolin, Mineral oil, Corn Oil.
Helena's Face & Body Crème: 4oz jar or 4 oz tube $8.00. The Base is Grape Seed Oil, Avocado, Jojoba, Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Pure Beeswax, Cold Pressed Coconut Oil, Organic Shea Butter and Infused herbal/plant hydrosols with Essential oils. For lighter creams, I would eliminate the Avocado and substitute Sweet Almond Oil.
Helena's Face/Body Crème with Walnut Oil Walnut has great emollient qualities. Walnut oil presents good moisturizing, anti-aging, & regenerative and toning properties, and can be used in all anti-wrinkle products & Crèmes for dry, normal, & mature skin.
